Eris is willing to go and help. Also I vote Egypt.

We lost two operatives last mission, maybe we should start investing in armour.

Krauss would rather go to Germany and is obstinate of that fact. So no Egypt for him. :P

I shall let you guys handle this one and try to hop on the next one when Krauss isn't in a bad mood.

Egypt sounds like a good choice for me.
Break Man is volunteering to go to the mission since he is still intact.
Can you change his armor color to red?

I'll go with Egypt too. Can you bring along one unnamed rookie?

Sure, do you want Dark Red or Bright Red with Yellow pants?

Also, I woke up to a horrifying realization this morning. I forgot to actually set our research project, which means we've lost days of progress we should have had on beam weapons. Which means we will almost certainly not have them in time for the Terror mission. So...that'll be fun. Also, I now know that the game does not in any way alert you to the fact that your scientists are being lazy bums unless you go to the Research screen.

-- COMMANDER: All right, since Egypt is the most panicked we'll be heading there.

-- COMMANDER: Rickenbacker, you're taking Man, Jackson, and one of the Rookies. Bring them back, and a live alien if you can.

Rickenbacker: Yes, sir!

Yeah, well, if there is a Rookie you like let me know. And, you know, name and whatnot. That goes for everyone, of course. If you want a new soldier after yours dies you can submit a new request and either go on the waitlist for a specific Nation/Gender/Class combo or pick one of the existing unclaimed soldiers to take.

A few days after the last mission:

-- COMMANDER: I have a baaaaad feeling about this.

So, yeah, Portent. Probably the most difficult mission in the game. I have never succeeded at this mission in Ironman without at least a Sargent in the squad. In our case, both our Corporals are still in the med bay getting patched up. So, there is a very good chance that this is a suicide mission for whomever we send.

I'll do my best, of course, and we have some good troops, but even knowing exactly what we're in for...Well, Thin Men rarely miss.

Huh.

I never really found that mission particularly difficult, just frustrating.

(If you want to sorta abuse it, though, at the end, if you get even a single soldier to the end zone, the mission will end, regardless of how many aliens are left, so you can just rush the ending if you just want the mission done with.)

Huh, didn't know that. Usually on escort missions they make you mop up afterwards. And, yeah, it doesn't seem like it should be that hard, but I may just have atrocious luck with it. And sometimes my soldiers don't die, it's just the escort target who gets fragged by Thin Men taking stupid risks to get to him.

Well, that one isn't actually an escort mission, because it ends once you reach the VIP, rather than having you mop up. It's odd.
