So...target escort mission. Who do you guys want to have go on this one?

I'll volunteer, unless you want the rookies to go in. Also we seem to have both done our XCOM: EW LP updates at the same time.

Aw man, a heavy? Ah well, at least I survived and got a kill. :P And saved someone!
I guess I'll come in handy when we come up against bigger enemies, assuming I live long enough. As for this mission, well, I usually don't send heavies along for target escorts- IMO faster-moving soldiers are better.

Also: I have a hilariously low Will score. Woulda been hilarious if I ended up as an Assault.

Erils, I don't have a free Support or Sniper at the moment (Since I'm pretty sure RAM is claiming our one sniper). Do you want to grab a free rookie or wait until one of them is promoted to Support or Sniper?
Sure, I'll take the Dutch guy and see where he goes.

Well, speed is actually randomized with the rest of the stats, so Heavies aren't necessarily slow. That said, I don't think your guy is very fast. Not that it matters too much, I usually go slow and steady with escort missions, since the thin-men drops are usually escort progress dependent.

Hmm...I wonder if there is a current mod that displays soldier speed. That'd be a handy stat to have.

I've also updated everyone's soldier pictures so they should be current as far as stats go.

Might be a few days before I get to this mission. I'm busy tonight and might be busy tomorrow night. We'll see.

If we've got loads of new people, let them go on a mission.

I'll volunteer my guy, only if there is an extra spot. We should bring a couple of non-rookie guys for each mission.

BTW, RAM, my normal procedure for Snipers is to keep them with a battle rifle until they level up to Corporal and get Squadsight or Snapshot. Makes them more useful, generally. But if you want to specifically keep your guy with a sniper rifle let me know.

I am thinking more sharpshooter than sniper, but the makers of the game were probably doing the same thing, so, umm, whatever lets me focus on difficult to hit and high priority targets...

Well, squaddie snipers are the least useful unit the entire game the way they have it set up. They become one of the most powerful, but I prefer to keep them with battle rifles until they have something better than just a move or shoot option available.

In that vein, I'll keep him with battle rifle until he levels up and you can decide which way you want him to go them.
