QUESTRAVAGERS II MAIN POSTThe date on the next page in the journal is more then a year ahead of the last one
28th Opal 102
It hasn't been easy, living in exile again with the Legion hunting us. We've only been able to make a few brief stops in towns and villages, recruiting those with magical potential as apprentices and moving on. Nuttycompa and Kamikazi's hunting skills are the only thing keeping us fed. We've been in contact with another renegade group of Warlocks camped not far from here. We're going to meet up tomorrow. With our combined might, we might be able to push back the Legion and establish another tower. With more hope then I've had in years, I commit these words to the paper in case I die tomorrow.
The next page is dedicated to small profiles of each member of the Magical TimesMe. It might be narcissistic to give myself a profile, but I should be included for completeness. I am the resident Sorcerer. I've become unfamiliar with Sorcery over the year we spent on the run, so I work slowly and sloppily compared to my days at Questravagers. I speak normally. I am arguably the most powerful Warlock who has ever lived or will live. Or failing that, the most powerful Warlock still alive.
Our Overlord. Or at least he would be if the magical throne that gave him that status hadn't evaporated with the rest of my creations when we fled Questravagers. He has no special magical abilities, but he rivals even Nuttycompa in skill with his Wraithblade. I can't count the number of times he's saved us from Legion forces or marauding animals. Speaks with a strong booming voice. That doesn't entirely redeem his lack of traditional Warlock qualities, but I'm glad he's on our side.
Our Necromancer. He has full access to a Necromantic Shrine, so he is free to unleash his vaguely disturbing creations on the Tower again. He has a peculiar affection for the undead and seems to treat his creations as family. He may also be some kind of primitive Sorcerer, as proven by his strange ability to manifest corpses, totems, slabs and coffins from rummaging around in empty coffins. SpEaKS WitH a uNCAnnY EMpHAsis oN CeRtaiN SyLLaBLes. Despite his flaws, he is very good at what he does.
Our Battlemage. Or at least she would be if she knew any spells. As it is, she is a skilled Herbalist and Alchemist and kept a small garden of herbs at Questravagers. She is very serious about her projects and supervises them with overenthusiastic micro managerial prowess. Speaks in a very precise and official sounding voice. But if you want obscure reagents found, she's the one to go to.
Our Fleshmonger. Or at least he would be if I let him anywhere near the tools he needs to do that. Temptsfate's apprentice and polar opposite. He has a very reasoned mind and likes taking his projects apart to see what hapens. He butchered one of our skeletons with a similar name for his "research". speaks quickly and energetically about subjects he is interested in. But when his curiosity is restrained, none can match his familiarity with flesh and bone.
Our Gemworker. He is getting quite skilled at performing Inscriptions. He's also my Apprentice. He has an overinflated sense of importance and hypocritically points outs others flaws. He also doesn't have half the magical power he thinks he does. Speaks with a voice heavy with dark magic and formality. However, I can't deny his affinity for jewels of all sorts.
Our Bookbinder. Or at least she would be if we could get our hands on some actual materials for making books. She is Apprenticed to Palu. Speaks in a rich and beautiful voice, but tends to whisper out of shyness. She is a very intelligent and powerful Witch and undoubtedly has great talent in Bookbinding. After she was inspired by the unhallowed ground to make Falsethrones, she has disturbing visions of bones and tries to avoid bone carving tools.
Our Ghoul Master. There are no circumstances preventing him from being Ghoul Master. He just sort of is. Perhaps the only person in the Magical Times[Besides Catalyst] who really sympathizes with me. He IS a tad overzealous in his assignments and takes a bit too much joy in the pain of others. But that only makes him more deadly in his line of work.
A soldier serving under Nuttycompa. He is not nearly as skilled as his master in the art of war, but he once bit an entire emu's head off. He is the result of an experiment by Temptsfate to transfer the memories and personality of one ghoul into another. It didn't entirely suceed. His namesake, Kamikazi haunts him as a ghost and somewhat disrupts his discipline. Nonetheless, he is still a dangerous opponent.
