It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Interesting concept, but no thanks.

And I suppose I'll have to be "that guy" and call out an escaped lunatic advertising his game on the forums.

If you had DF fans playing and they thought the game deserved to be mentioned on here, they probably would have rather than push you to do it.

Again, no comment on the game itself, I didn't even look, it might be amazing, but this form of advertisement rubs me completely the wrong way.

NOW I DON'T HAVE THE DATA TO SUPPORT THIS ARGUEMENT, HOWEVER THINK OF THE CHILDREN AND ALL MY CATS AND HOW THEY HAVE NO MONEY.
Then you realize why this bill is a good idea.
Unless you don't.
But then you're a islamo-terrorist with a meth addiction.

Depends on how far into the negatives you went.  The current rate of regular energy regen is 1/7minutes.

As for the guy who said the DF fans in my game would have created this thread: they actually asked me to do it, probably because I'm more able to explain the game in full than they are.  They have however started a number of reddit threads on my behalf, since reddit disallows me from posting about my own game there as they sell advertising within their site.  Feel free to ask around in the in-game posts and whatnot and I'm sure you'll find that there are in fact many fans of both DF and LCS playing Clout.

edit: I also forgot to say: thanks to everyone offering words of support and encouragement; it's very helpful!

Maybe you didn't even read the first paragraph.  But that is cool, I guess, railing against a developer who was invited here by B12ers.

Sluissa, you want to know about games that might be fun which you haven't been aware of so far, right?
Wouldn't you agree that Delosford described the gameplay in great detail?
In what way would you prefer the description to have been better - or are you just upset because Delosford "isn't one of us?"
Do you think it's somehow better if a fan of a game posts about it instead of the developer himself coming here?
Why not be proud that a developer would choose to come here to promote their game?
How does attacking Delosford, or any other developer who comes here to talk about their game, help this community, or indie gaming and game development?

I did read the first post, that doesn't make it trustworthy in the least. There is also a big difference between. "Hey, I found this cool  new game." and discussion around it. And "Hey, I have an interest in more people playing this and you look like a fertile field for reaping."

This place has already been slipping towards being an outright commercial noticeboard for a year or two now. This is just where I decided to mention my opinion. I don't like it and this simply crossed a line for me.

I take issue with this.

First off,

This place has already been slipping towards being an outright commercial noticeboard for a year or two now.

Take a look at the front page of Other Games? How many threads were started by the devs besides this one? Cataclysm DDA is the only one I see at this point. GlyphGryph is an extremely active member of the Bay12 community, and he was before he was a part of Cata DDA. Also, the game is free, so how is that a commercial endeavor? While devs do post stuff here as advertisements, those threads are scoffed at by the majority of members and quickly sink into oblivion. So please, enlighten me as to how this place has become a commmercial noticeboard? Because community members post games that they are interested in? Isn`t that the point of this board?

Let's continue,

I did read the first post, that doesn't make it trustworthy in the least. There is also a big difference between. "Hey, I found this cool  new game." and discussion around it. And "Hey, I have an interest in more people playing this and you look like a fertile field for reaping."

I`d say the dev did a damn sight better then most people who just come here to shill their game.

I decided to post this here on suggestion from the players of my game, many of whom are big fans of both Dwarf Fortress and Liberal Crime Squad.  I've only really played the second one much, myself.  I found it pretty amusing, though I actually played it after I launched my games after it was suggested by a couple players of my game.  My game has drawn a variety of comparisons for some similarities, though not really so much in the gameplay.  More the theme of political satire.

I don`t know, this seems a bit more trustworthy to me than a dev who stops by says "Here`s my game, go buy it , bye." So is it a problem that he hasn`t played DF? No, a fair amount of people who frequent this board don`t play it, or haven`t played it. That doesn`t mean they shouldn`t be allowed to post here. The forums have grown beyond the game, and if people from here recommended that he post here, so be it. In addition, look at the thread since that post. There has been discussion about the game between the dev and others here, and various people have signed up to play it. As Shadowlord said:

Why not be proud that a developer would choose to come here to promote their game?

TL;DR: I`m annoyed with people attacking devs who come here earnestly to share their game. Yes, there are some bad apples, but that doesn`t mean the whole bunch is rotten.

Some people are still raw over certain kick-starter/alpha games that never achieved playable level *cough* STARFORGE *cough* TOWNS *cough*.

PS - not excusing just explaining.

This will be my last post on the subject in this thread, it was only my opinion and you're all entitled to yours as well, therefore I will refrain from attacking anyone else's.

It honestly has nothing to do with prior kickstarters although they do certainly leave a bad taste in the mouth and both of those games did turn out to flop a bit.

I might have engaged in a bit of hyperbole in saying it's little more than corporate notice board, however they do tend to stick out at me, again, rubbing me the wrong way, and thus I tend to remember them. I feel like there are more than there are, and there are no small number of them, although as you said, most tend to fade away into obscurity pretty quickly. Either way, I was wrong to state it that way, so I do apologize. It does happen though, as all know.

Also again, I was not commenting on the quality of the first post, or the quality of the game itself, or the type of person the dev might be at all. I simply don't like this type of advertising. It bothers me, I don't like seeing it on this board, and while there may be a lot of grey area I can't directly object against, a lot of the more accepted stuff I personally don't like either. Still, I always thought there was a clear line that could be drawn with regard to escaped lunatics who advertise something, and that's where I chose to take a metaphorical stand. Obviously I was wrong in thinking it was a universally accepted taboo on this board.

In any case, as I said, last post in this thread about it. I apologize for derailing it for anyone who actually is interested (although I haven't seen much actual discussion going on, just a lot of PTW.). And not that anyone likely cares, I believe this might be my last post on this board altogether. I still love Toady and DF and believe this forum has a lot of good. I've just never really connected with too many people on here and I think I might be going somewhere this forum isn't stopping at. So fare well to you all. I do wish you all well.

And good luck, delosford. Keep coming up with those interesting ideas.
