The enchantment must be too strong. Go back to town to look for a diviner.

Realizing that Bertram won't be joining them anytime soon, Russ gives an irritated scowl and walks over to Cromwell, jerking his thumb in a vague 'Let's go' signal.

Edit: Realizing that Cromwell won't be going anywhere for a while, Russ elevates his level of annoyance, snatches the direction stone back off Cromwell and begins puzzling out how to make the guidance work.

Turn 7: Wherein a lecture begins

Thanks for the help, Ven.
No prob at all.
((Cromwell’s wounds heal completely))

Russ looks at Bertram, shrugs and begins the long walk back to the outside of the tower. When he finally gets outside, he tosses his stone and Cromwell rather catches it, while Ren rather cautiously avoids the stone completely not.
((Russ loses Direction Stone))
((Cromwell gains Direction Stone))

Anything interesting inside?"
No.
After waiting for Bertram for quite a while, Russ decides that its time to get moving. After waiting quite impatiently for a few moments, Russ gets annoyed and attempts to snatch the direction stone back. Cromwell sees him coming, and puts the stone into his inventory, foiling the attempted theft altogether.

Joe meanwhile decides to find the nearest diviner to break the foul enchantments obviously covering the hidden doors, before realizing that he has no clue where the nearest town is, or even if there are any nearby towns! Nevertheless, he could still set off in a direction and hope he finds something.

Well, what's MYRTA or however you pronounce it?
((Derp, I didn’t fix Narno’s name to be the same color as his text in the previous post, rest assured that they should indeed be the same))
Zamtek splutters.
You call yourself a wizard and don’t know who MYRTA IS? Or wait, perhaps you already know who he is, but know how shoddy the academy is on this subject, and know that I am the only one who can truly teach you the truth.
What follows is a rather long lecture on MYRTA, the universes, and ancient history.
-----
((Note that if you target something magic resistant (eg. An antimagic shield) as the primary target, it won’t be dissipated, but if you try to bypass it (eg. Targeting the warlock behind it), it will.))
-----
Spoiler: Ren; Harbingerjm (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Russ Vergensford; Tack (click to show/hide)
-----
Due to not wanting to have all the info on MYRTA done as a single huge wall of text (and also not wanting him to be stuck inside for 5 turns), I am going to break the info up over the next few turn. Xantalos will be able to ask questions and such over this time (despite the lecture having chronologically taken place over the course of this turn), but no one else will.

Also, in the interests of not wanting to take traveling to take traveling to your destination to take forever, we will use fast travelling. As long as A) You have been somewhere before, or B) You know how to get there (from a spell or map) you can fast travel to your destination, in this way a journey of a month can be done in a single turn (as long as you don’t run into any obstacles).

Sorry for the delay on this, I had oodles of homework.

Ah, I suppose I wasn't very clear. The lecture chronologically takes place during 7 and is already over, and you can leave now (or ask him a question unrelated to the lecture if you have any).

Seeing that his plans of doing anything for the next while have been expertly sabotaged, Russ walks inside the tower and leans against the door.

Turn 7.1:  On elements
I should begin by talking about what elements actually are. Why for example is sound not an element, while Gravity is. The answer has to do with the fundamental nature of elements and the gods. Each element is really the projection of an elemental god into reality. Gravity is the manifestation of GRAVITY, while there is no applicable god for sound. Whenever you are manipulating a element, you are directly using the energy of the god. Your spellcasting is changing the world through manipulating the already living manifestation of gods. Of course, this isn’t entirely accurate. GRAVITY is Gravity. Any distinction between the two is almost non-existent, to try to distinguish between them is akin to distinguishing between your soul and your self.
Other things that appear on the surface to be elements are simply rules of the universe of the universe we live in, or emergent properties of these rules.

So if I were to somehow become a god, I'd have my very own sphere of magic? Awesome. Do the gods interact with the world in any other ways?

Turn 8: Wherin shit gets forcibly moved along
Where have you looked for the tomb, so I don't get sidetracked?

I have looked everywhere. Your task is simple. You are not to look for the tomb, because you will fail if you try. You just have to disable the masking devices. Now, I believe I have been more than forthright. Goodbye.

Saying this, he spreads his hands and the floor tilts slightly towards the door, causing Bertram to slide all the way to, and then out the door.

Meanwhile Cromwell looks at the stone, and figures out how it works pretty easily, it just tugs (very slightly) towards the direction you are supposed to go.

Bertram tosses his extra direction stone to Ven.
((Bertram loses Direction Stone))
((Ven gains Direction Stone))
-----
Since it appears that besides Xantalos’s questions people aren’t really going to do anything this turn (except possibly figure out how the direction stones work), I figure its best for me to just speed things along a bit.
I’m not really going to do any spells, because I’m not really counting this as a full turn.
-----
You can all fast travel to a destination starting this turn, just pick a partner and get going. Obviously one of you will need to go get Joe though (and if he refuses to come one of you will just have to go on your own).

But solo adventuring! I've got to rebel against the fascism of plot, and embrace the democracy of side quests!

Well good luck with that I suppose. You will probably be able to find a sidequest eventually, although at the rate turns seem to be going, it will take a very long time.
No sidequest (in this area at any rate, if you had went to the desert there would be oodles of sidequests) is really going to get you anything magical worth keeping. You might get a good sword/heavy armor or something, but those aren't particularly useful for squishy wizards in general.
