Nope, claiming the same die repeatedly is fine. It's actually impossible not to at least twice, with 7 rounds and only 5 types of dice.

I somehow misread that as five rounds; my goal of exactly one of each die is now impossible!

D4 and I will prefer the D4 in all future rounds, though I imagine I'll have to state so round per round anyway :P

Basically I want all my actions to go either really well or really badly, which the D4 pretty much assures. At least I would think so.

Edit: (Sidenote, this game gives me basically zero reason NOT to check the thread every day and post. Turns are so simple in this that if I were to drop this I'd seriously consider never running a forum game ever again.)
