Yeah, go nuts! Post it in the thread when you're done and I'll bother people incessantly to get in it.

It'll be just like old times in the mabi thread. :P

Ugh. I used to be able to contribute 2g to the guild fund but I just blew it all on making my forge. v.v

So, I'm very close to having a big batch of Bronze Ingots, which shall be churned into chisels and blades and sold for a profit!  When that passes, I hope to be able to buy the guild creation pass.  Those who know me, should hopefully know that I can manage and organize fairly well and have some experience running guilds in other games.  The main limiter right this moment, is money and ideas.  I was likely to found the site nearby Hawkoria, I had considered near Teason but decided that wasn't too important since the guild is supposed to have its own tools, and proximity to market would be nice.  Advanced camps could be built in player-owned camps for collecting resources from the environment, then funneled to the guild location for refining.

So the real issue is who to include, and actually understanding if the guild location offers communal tool options...

EDIT: ALSO, anyone who has questions, concerns, ideas, or anything, please message me in-game, under the same name, and go ahead and add me as a friend as well.

Location matters if you want to extract tree trunks or some type of marble I think?

I will say that riht now, flora seems fairly underpowered and likely will be until PvP/combat with consequences goes in. The two big things are energy and health potions, the rest just effect skills/land scores which only add things you can make, and again, combat.

Energy potions are nice for everyone, but otherwise it seems pretty centered around combat, barring minmaxing so you can make x craft ahead of time and get skilled up faster or whatever.

I may be wrong though!

Oh right, right, there's different monolithic items...  I'll do a little research.

I think the previously stated multiple guild idea would work well.

Have one central guild for administration, marketplace managing, etc. (Hawkoria is definitely a good place for this, because of girlinhat's marketplace reason.)
Then have separate guilds for each trade, which will have the guildmasters send their items up to the main guild and request needed items from the main guild/the required trade's guild.

Until we have multiple guilds, people can just go straight to the main one, but planning ahead is never a bad idea.

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

Actually, poking the game guide, the Highaerie Hills has Cassiterite, Malachite, Calamine, and Hematite available, all the metals available in the Hawkoria region, as well as lignite, black coal, and a few bits of fish, gem, wildlife, etc.  As far as a metal-based guild goes, it's pretty close to Hawkoria proper and has a lot of readily available resources.  As long as we're going to invest, it'd be a better spot I think.  It's also pretty easy on Hills requirement.

Highaerie doesn't have any boulders available, sadly, which are needed to make monoliths...

EDIT: Some info about guilds:
http://www.theriansaga.com/forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=4144

EDIT 2: Alright, after some research, thought, and nodding to myself, here's the plan.
Step 1: Horde gold.  It's going to take, eh, we'll say 125 gold to settle the guild in.  We must buy the guild, then must buy the domain, and THEN can start building the enormous communal workshops.  To that end, we're going to need a LOT of liquid assets, particularly funneled right to me.  I know this in particular sounds unfair, but group effort is not about holding your own rights, but is about donating towards the group.

Step 1b: I'm working bronze chisels and blades to sell for profit.  You can donate tin or copper ore, lignite, bronze ingots, or completed chisels/blades directly to me to put on market as well.

Step 2: Once we have the Domain, a LOT of stonework will be required to build the locations, so we'll need significant stone resources and skill.  Highaerie has access to Granite, which is skill 22 to extract and 10 to turn to a block, so there are local options.

Step 3: I haven't confirmed this point, but I'm assuming that after the construction, or alongside it, we'll need engineering to actually install forges and anvils and such, so that's another skill that will need some investment.

IN SHORT: Piling gold, then construction labor, in that order.

Okay, I'm a little lost with metal. Is it really meant to be this slow? I leave my character prospecting copper nuggets all day, and come home from work to find that she's gotten... 15-20 nuggets. Enough for 1, maybe 2 bars of copper (possibly 3 of bronze). That's not even enough to make 1 of most items I can smith. If I leave her prospecting all day and again all night, I might get enough to try for 1 sword or something. How am I supposed to skill up this way?

Is there somewhere else where I can get more nuggets for similar time/energy?

Also, what's the point of mining ores? Do you get more nuggets/bars if you start from ore? I feel like I must be missing something big here, but no idea what I should do.

You can get a lot of mats for stuff if you buy it from NPCs. I dunno if there are any NPC stores selling ore, but they sell it for great prices if there are.

Similarly if you get a concession and make a camp you can get little NPC dudes to gather stuff for you. Not very fast, but it's something.

Dunno anything about mining/prospecting in general, so yeah.

Prospecting sucks.  My metalworker that I recently created churns out 500-800 copper ore per day, two laborers which churn out about 150-200 tin ore.  So yeah, try mining it instead.  You have to go the extra step of smelting it but it's worth it, and fuel is extremely easy to get anyways.

EDIT:  You don't need a concession to get laborers to mine for you.  You  just need the concession to stash them if you want different types of companions.  The best investment tip I can give to all metalworkers is to have at least 3 laborers working 24/7.  They work .33x as fast as you, so with 3 that's basically a clone of you harvesting resources for you.

You gain 1-3 nuggets per attempt, or 1-10 ore.
10 ore = 10-15 nuggets.
WORST case scenario, 1 nugget vs 15 nuggets.
BEST case scenario, 30 nuggets vs 10 nuggets.

Ore takes an extra step to refine, so gathering pure nuggets skips that (and thus lowers the fuel cost) but collecting ore directly can produce a lot more, with patience, as well as gems, rarely.

Copper in general takes FOREVER to collect and refine, so that's always a slow one, and why a copper ingot sells for 3s+ usually.  Tin is much more agreeable in terms of rate of production, and if you just start producing tin weapons at different quality levels then you can level up fairly easily!

Whoa. Okay, I'm switching to ore collecting then. I didn't realize there was such a big difference.
