Hrm...if I were to join...what sort of character is needed to help further the B12 group?
Let me get back to you on that.  I'm going to look into the logistics of a slim guild setup and see how we could use a few members to best effect.  In particular, Stone, Wood, Science and Metal are really important to get things going - construction and tools, mainly.  Fashion, Flora, and Fauna are relatively secondary.

You've been the most actively working on getting a guild set up and, knowing you, I think you can more than manage to set up something running well. So if/when you get started on creating one, send me a message in-game (Alexwazer) and I'll support the financial aspect.

I started wood trade yesterday and have been focusing on woodcutting, so if you get a decent carpenter, I could also feed him/her logs or planks. Later on, I could also help with carpentry needs, but that isn't my priority right now. As I previously stated, I'm so interested in joining a guild yet myself until I feel I can contribute in a signifiant way in crafting and/or building, so that still leaves room for others to join and help.

So as one of my first (and maybe last) purchases, I got a crossing for another character which shall be an engineer blacksmith.
This was probably a bad idea.

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

Tnx

Hm...the more I think about it and try to plan it out...the more I almost dislike trying to almost force people to do things they don't want to do, for example, setting up not a guild but a chain of people to work a specific profession. My original idea was to have 4 people work together, 1 for each step of the job and buy the tools from others. Potion making for example could work if you have 1 do sand gathering, one do glass making, one doing ampule making then one making the potions with all of them having farmers or craftswomen gathering the plants with breaks to train skills or dungeons to train combat for lanfar, then as the potion maker sells the potions then the rest are handed an even split of it, initially sand would be able to produce more then enough and could also split to gather fuel for the glass maker. It could work in theory if the stone worker gathers both sand and fuel then hands that off, files would have to be bought, I don't think the stone worker would need tools to gather the sand and lignite(until higher fuels are needed). It would be a near fully self sustaining group that focuses on a specific objective.

The issue with this is when one member doesn't get around to doing their job, it effectively shuts down the entire thing and the other 3 could end up giving up on the idea all-together.

Hawkweed is found in the Silver Mountains, producing 1-3 at 80%. Also I have been dabbling in carpentry, so if anyone wants some frameworks, roofs, or walls mail me in game and ill see if I can get it to you.

Can you have non-guildmembers work on stuff for other guilds? Like, have a masons guild, and the masons all drop finished goods in the pool, and the guildmaster sends finished goods to the next Bay12 guild. And he will expect to see things like masonry tools coming in from the b12 smithy guild, and clothes from the B12 fashioning guild, etc. Members would drop off old gear they don't need and pick up new gear from the guild pool.

That way you can have individuals who take a break or don't produce much, as long as each guildmaster is active the network would still be able to distribute.

The end result would be a player entering a guild, suddenly having the right gear available, tons of materials, and a ready market for his production.

If there are phases of production that result in money profit, for example from sales of finished goods to the player market or goods sold to the NPC market, whoever did the work should keep the money. If it turns out that certain guilds aren't getting much money for their members, you could send money from the more profitable guilds to less profitable ones - although I suspect all of them will be able to sell.

Having some active all arounders does sound like it wouldn't be a terrible idea.

These were my thoughts exactly (well, close).  Seeing as it would also be cheaper in the short term only have to build one metallurgical factory or monolithic quarry.  If we wanted to be self sustained as a community we would need more than one guild anyway.  The monolithic quarry and giant yard both work like the quarry and mines you build on personal concession, just that they unlock boulders and giant trunks (needed to make the major structures and if we produce enough could make a decent amount selling to other guilds).  So we would need a Wood guild in a forest to source trunks of the type we wanted and a Stone guild in location with boulders we wanted.

For those of you having trouble locating your first concession, this post here explains a lot about the importance of location in regards to recruiting high level companions.

Apparently, after a day or so of grinding woodcutting and training the other wood trades, I've reached a point where I can already make some actually useful structure items. So if anyone need something better than fir for some construction, feel free to send me a mail in-game.

Also, Kelroth please add Wood trade as main trade for my character (Alexwazer).
