Hm...explored a dungeon, fought a tough fight vs a bandit boss that had 16ish defense and 22 offense, won and it dropped an iron mace(weaker then what I had gotten from a quest)...it sold for a gold and a half 

Looked it up, its a rare encounter...which explains why it would drop something so valuable...I went back for a 2nd try...got mauled at the 2nd battle, risk vs reward I guess

Hm, I think I will be focusing on just taming.  Seems like animal companions are pretty important for dungeon diving and exploring later on.

So it looks like to go from wood to coal we need alchemy. Once we have coal though I can start supplying fuel for the metal smith's to make me some blades.

If anyone is able to make coal give me a shout and I'll start throwing logs at you.

Blow one night mining shale, then I should have the Quarrying to dig up liginite. What will I do with all this shale?
