Actually, poking the game guide, the Highaerie Hills has Cassiterite, Malachite, Calamine, and Hematite available, all the metals available in the Hawkoria region, as well as lignite, black coal, and a few bits of fish, gem, wildlife, etc. As far as a metal-based guild goes, it's pretty close to Hawkoria proper and has a lot of readily available resources. As long as we're going to invest, it'd be a better spot I think. It's also pretty easy on Hills requirement.
Highaerie doesn't have any boulders available, sadly, which are needed to make monoliths...
EDIT: Some info about guilds:
http://www.theriansaga.com/forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=4144EDIT 2: Alright, after some research, thought, and nodding to myself, here's the plan.
Step 1: Horde gold. It's going to take, eh, we'll say 125 gold to settle the guild in. We must buy the guild, then must buy the domain, and THEN can start building the enormous communal workshops. To that end, we're going to need a LOT of liquid assets, particularly funneled right to me. I know this in particular sounds unfair, but group effort is not about holding your own rights, but is about donating towards the group.
Step 1b: I'm working bronze chisels and blades to sell for profit. You can donate tin or copper ore, lignite, bronze ingots, or completed chisels/blades directly to me to put on market as well.
Step 2: Once we have the Domain, a LOT of stonework will be required to build the locations, so we'll need significant stone resources and skill. Highaerie has access to Granite, which is skill 22 to extract and 10 to turn to a block, so there are local options.
Step 3: I haven't confirmed this point, but I'm assuming that after the construction, or alongside it, we'll need engineering to actually install forges and anvils and such, so that's another skill that will need some investment.
IN SHORT: Piling gold, then construction labor, in that order.
