If your in the guild then just provide the materials to me and I'll make them. If your building in the low difficulty areas you can go with marl blocks, tin ingots, soft leather, fir planks and any cables. To be honest, cables is the part that holds the entire thing back, you cant get them from npcs or anything like that and it uses resin to make which is in short supply. For a single set of factory mega machinery you need 225 resin.

Watchers is pretty active. We just finished a decent batch of projects. Norstrian delegation, Charbaltic cluster mine, Jewelery factory.

There was a conversion error in my math. Having fixed that, it looks like a factory is actually cheaper than five workshops even considering the cost of the domain, though I'm guessing at the market prices of the megamachinery. Just looking at the amounts of materials, a factory is cheaper due to the amount of materials required to make a watermill. Even a headquarters would cost about as much as two mills (in terms of materials). Argh, decisions.

I don't suppose someone could quote me the cost of a derrick and big hoist?

I'm not using any references so this may have errors in it.  In order to build a factory I think you will need to start a guild.  Let's assume you build everything in Hawkoria Plains for the sake of simplicity.  This means purchase a charter from Hawkoria City for 10g.  Then you will need a domain to place the factory in which is 110g in Hawkoria.  You will need the factory blueprints, I forget the price.  You will need 1750 free space in the domain, 18g.  You will need 100 fir frames, 50 walls, 50 roofs, 30 foundations call it 20g.  Building the factory itself is a 10g operation. 

Derrick and Hoist take:
75 cables
200 metal ingots
200 soft leather
200 stone blocks
1000 wood planks
30 engineering consumables

Which is a bit more than 2 watermills, due to the cables.  Plus a workshop and mill for your factory.

I'm pretty sure you don't need a guild HQ constructed unless you want to start producing guild agreements.  Those are the currency for later game projects.

To be honest, things have been slow because one of the steps is me being able to do 66 sewing to make olkznar cables. This has been a bit difficult since I'm at 68 fashion and 69 sewing and still need 4 more skill ups.

I'll stand corrected, I only need 2 more, I was at 66 sewing before this last craft and it bumped me up to 69, I'm using 5.1 sewing potions.
