Her shoulders slumped, she looked down at the ground, and the fire (some quite literal) faded away.
: "Look, I...I think you're an idiot for acting that way. I'd rather you work with the group so we all get out of this. But if...if that's such an important part of you, part of who you are...then do what you think is best. I can't ask anyone to be someone they're not."

Medens speaks in stiff, restrained tones, though he seems less angry, and simply more...distant, perhaps, than he was before.

"Milady, I have no intention of causing our efforts here to fail through my actions. You must understand, madam; you are the only one here capable of harming these creatures with any sort-of consistency. The shaman wield dark magicks, which from the little I know of magecraft, confound the spirits that enable anima magick to work. Thus I choose to tempt the beast into striking at myself, rather than allow it to endanger my most valuable ally."

"I am not completely lacking in wits, much as I may push that statement from time to time."

He says the last remark with a self-deprecating smile; and a genuine one. It was hard for the young cavalier to stay angry, for any reason(save, perhaps, knavish behavior).

The rider hesitated at first, looking back at Jasmine worryingly. He obviously didn't relish the thought of leaving her there, wounded, but when he spotted the priest closing, he nodded to Lucas, and

"I fear it likely our foes still lie on the path ahead. I do not believe I will be able to report with any haste...but perhaps the sound of fighting will inform you, should I fail to return with a timely manner."

Steeling himself, he urged his mount into a gallop, smacking at the horrid child-creature as he rode past.

She held up a hand to ward off any potential argument. "Not that I'm saying we shouldn't put these poor folks to rest, or that we shouldn't stop the one responsible. She moved towards the undead child, summoning up a fire bolt.
