Unfortunately, turning back is not a easy choice. Forward is the much shorter path at this point, with one band of undead, while back is a long detour though the night with an unknown number enemy gangs.

The party need to choose before the foes in front choose for them.

Alima sighed.

"Wait. Just... wait. It seems we'll be going with you. Don't do anything stupid, ok? It'd make me feel bad if you went off and got yourself killed because I hesistated."

[Sirus]

: "I vote we push forward. I imagine a bunch of moldy bodies will burn like kindling if we have to fight our way through, as opposed to living bandits who can stop, drop, and roll."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Besides, flirt here would prolly wanna see these things get their last rites. And it's prolly fast. So... yeah."

Medens seems somewhat relieved, or at least he does from this distance. He trots back towards them, then gets off his horse and bows deeply.

"Then I am in your debt, madam and sirs. Let us dispatch with these monstrosities post-haste."

[Sirus]

: "Which one you calling a madam, buddy? Choose your answer carefully, lest you tick off two other people."

[SeriousConcentrate]

Shaundra shrugged.

"Don't care. Madam's too highfalutin' a title for me anyways."

[Sirus]

: "Not the point, Sharpshooter. I'm not much for titles either, but I will not stand here and be called a sir."

"Probably just misspoke. Not a huge deal, forgot an s. Either way, probably should be more focused on the mass of enemies that's ahead than a mistake in speech, no?"

Shaundra idly toyed with the low v-neck of her tunic.

"Know he couldn't have accidentally called me a sir. Be fair to the guy, he did just run from the rising dead. Prolly still recovering from the shock. Not like he blew up a forge or anything, right?"

She nodded to Alima when the bard backed her up.

"Yeah. You can be the madam if you want. Let's just focus on the fight coming up."

The cavalier flushes as he realizes how he spoke, and tries to stammer out a response.

"Eh, I-I was referring to the two gentlemen accompanying you when I said sirs. I was taught to leave the s off of the first if the second is plural as well...

He trails off as he realizes he's speaking like a scholar, rather than a knight, and his whole face turns red, as he turns away to try and regain his composure.

[SeriousConcentrate]

"'s OK. At least you didn't blow up a forge; Jazz'd never forgive you then."

[Sirus]

: "Damn right I wouldn't. But fair enough, let's focus on what's up ahead. Knighty guy, what can you tell us about this place? Number of undead beasties, any sort of treasure we could 'liberate', that sort of thing."

"Err...I'm afraid not, milady. I was never able to enter the castle's domain, as when the creatures struck, I was yet outside, and my horse took fright at their smell, bearing me away before I could reconnoiter properly."

He pauses for a second, realizing all the women near him, and starts walking a little faster.

"H-however, these are bandits who've been robbing innocent travelers for many weeks now. There would likely be troves of valuables we could return to their rightful owners, milady, and the weapons the bandits use themselves to be turned over to the proper authorities."

Medens knew about chivalry. He understood honor and battle and what the code of nobility demanded. He didn't know about women, and he didn't like being thrust into their midst without warning. He did know to be courteous to them at all times, though.

"Doesn't hurt to look at least."

Shaundra yawned and stretched, then rubbed her eyes.

"Right. Let's head on to the fort."
