Create makeshift fins.

"Congratulations indeed! You managed to salvage some sorely needed parts."

We need to return. We need that delicious building material. Too bad we lost that radioactive waste though. We could have used it for weapons.

- Agreed. It seems to be extremely important - for bodies and drones and stuff. But I suggest we plant some drones on the Enceladus, define mining operation runners and then return back to orbit to salvage those scraps.

"I've constructed two mining rigs, even one would probably work well enough. Don't know if we want to equip them with mining drones as well, or leave the rigs unattended."

-We have lots of steel now, and we can always return to Sigurd to cut off more - I trust we left it in a stable orbit, so the calculations involved won't be too difficult. I'd say we should make some mining drones.

Having stated this, Anton returns to his current business - designing a specialized body for himself, considering the results of his first engagement.

A standard engineer chassis, but more powerful legs for faster sprinting speed and a combination welding and cutting tool/melee weapon integrated into one arm. Add additional hydraulics to the legs to make their step softer and to permit jumps from a larger height. More powerful leg magnets to permit walking on walls and ceilings freely, as well as thin soft pads on the soles to silence the noise.

But that crate may contain the titanium I need.

- Okay, I figure we won't have hard times allowing you to hang on low orbit cutting your precious titanium while we'll be running some important buisness below.

Because robot spiders.

Anton pauses to consider this.

-Ah...Robot spiders. What robot spiders? You need any help with that?

Probably. Let's go.
Go back and have my nanites get inside nearby spiders and find and target their circuits by sensing their electricity.

((Alright, some notes now that I'm back))

  • The ship was sent back because you all seemed to agree to return. The robot spiders are inside a container that Froggy Ninja's character opened. The container is still on the pirate vessel.
  • Mining Drones are large, about truck-sized, and are used only to increase production. If you find a really valuable material and are under time pressure for whatever reason, they might be useful. If you plan to leave the rig unattended for a while, it will fill up with resources and the drones won't make a difference. Drones can also be used to explore caves for artifacts and valuable stuff like crystals (since we are still in the hard sci-fi phase you won't find too many neat things... for now)
  • Samarkand has already figured out how well nanites in space work
  • Your ship does not have manufacturing facilities required for efficient manipulation of Carbon nanotube structures (such as radiatior fins)

If you guys are sending Wasp back I need to know what you are bringing with you. Just Dave?

The nanites should work if they let off a weak magnetic field as a sort of artificial gravity.

((The canon is that they work using some sort of ion propulsion, and benefit from having propellant freely available atoms such as an atmosphere.

You can modify them, of course, to do that. Since deploying the Enceladus rig requires sending Wasp, you have time to do that.))
