I quickly synthesize some chloroform and knock out my target then drag him out of the room under the pretense of getting him away from the gas leak. While dragging him I steal the key.

- I hope you brought that first aid kit. Hell, I hope you know first aid. How attached are you to this Ashcroft guy?

"Not. At all. I'm an independent scientist. The CN only brought me here because my research ended up working perfectly with their nanite research. They called me in, gave me funding, brought you guys in, and then let me continue working. Eventually they decided to add nanites into the mix.
They gave me the Cloud control software and told me to integrate it into my neural interface system. The code was downright awful and I only had a few weeks, so I could only make some quick changes before the deadline. Part of the control interface involved using the nanites to simulate human neurons--I'll get into it later once we're off, but basically there were shortcuts that let things like copied-Hamilton be formed. I predicted it could happen, but I figured it wouldn't come into play just yet and I would have time to refine the code. Unfortunately, I had no contingency plan."

Your target is currently walking away to Dr. McDonald's office, where Avis' character will subdue him.

We'll damn... I have some materials an empty room and a high inventing skill Attempt to remove the lid on the Nanite containment tube and add them to my Cloud. Then I try to build a optical enhancer to augment my own vision to be able to see individual Nanites at examinable sizes.

Well... It isn't exactly amnesiacs, but the general sense is the same.
Grab the stun baton

And what is happening there?
Look inside the room, hiding the stun baton behind my back.

[5] Seeing that the gas leak did cause any and all witnesses to flee the room, you decide to take advantage of this opportunity and get yourself a Cloud. While the glass tank is thick, you figure that you can repair any damage to your body at a later date and decide to attack the container using brute force.

You notice that as you swing your fist, ceramic spikes are extended from your knuckles. The spikes cause the tempered glass to immediately crack in all positions, held in place by the electromagnetic netting embedded within to avoid unwanted magnetic interference. You brush away a few of the shards and break a hole in the net, allowing nanites to come out of the tank and refill your cloud. Since you are in excess, you can build whatever you want and stay at full.

You dismantle the glass and use the nanites to form it into multiple lenses, super-heating it with their thrusters and combining to form a metallic frame to hold the lenses together. As the molten glass slowly cools, you are left with an optical device not unlike something from a piece of steampunk fiction. The apparatus is capable of capable of attaching to your unit's head and enhance vision from one camera, letting you observe at the level of a few micrometers--just enough to view individual nanites in detail with all of their equipment. They're not exactly nanites, you think to yourself, if they're longer than a nanometer.

Constructor aspect gained!

[6] You decide that you should escort Ashcroft to Dr. McDonald's office, just to make sure nothing can go wrong. However, as you walk up to Ashcroft, the researcher turns around to face you and asks you if there is anything he can do.

Avis-Mergulus AKA Anton "Tosha" Teremnoi

You hear the researcher's footsteps slow to a halt. You wonder to yourself if he can somehow see into the room, or if your plans have been discovered. Perhaps your radio channel with McDonald is no longer secure?

You hear Ashcroft's voice asking someone if he needs help with anything.

Samarkand AKA Felicia Hasting
Spoiler: Skills (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Cloud Status (click to show/hide)

"Oh hello! I assume by the voice that you are Felicia Hastings, one of the Cloud subjects? I'm not in a hurry, so we can definitely talk about it."

You start to follow her, although she slows down and moves to your side as you start moving. [1] Not used to this unit's walking habits, you forget about your wider-than-usual stride and accidentally trip the doctor as she starts talking. Since she is wearing magnetic boots, her foot right readily attaches itself to your left and she falls forward from her momentum.
[Observation Roll: 5] You, looking for pieces of identification you can snatch, fail to find a badge and don't see a reason to steal her nametag. You do, however, notice a set of keys gently floating behind her, including a tag identifying the keys as belonging to Dr. Alice Walker. They must have been flung from her pocket due to centrifugal force.

Observer skill learned!

[5] You slide the wristband off of its hook and slip the baton behind your back, pulling it away from the magnet on the door. You have a storage department in your unit but opening it might create unnecessary noise.

Ambusher skill gained!

You don't want to risk opening the door in order to observe what is happening inside, so you eye the gap at the door's threshold. Your heads up display picks up on what you are trying to do, and highlights your little finger in blue, indicating that there is some sort of tube located inside of it. Thinking about this tube opens a cap at the end of the finger, extending a tiny flexible camera.
Passing this camera through the threshold, you observe the interior of the room from the ground up. The microphone on the camera lets you hear what is going on.

--

Inside the room is a patient seated on a padded chair in the far corner of the room, facing the door. His hands are shaking visibly, and judging by his face he appears angry. The therapist is in the room, facing him (and away from the door), talking to him calmly about the situation.

"It's alright. Just tell me more about your family. I'm all ears."
"You don't understand, you just don't understand. They're waiting for me. I've been with you jarheads for fifteen years. Not once have I been able to call them or see my son! You can't just expect me to sit on this rock all day and look at dials! I'm so tired of this!"

((Ooo! I have so many skills they've organized themselves! On the other hand, I feel like I should loose my observational skill for accidentally calling the Dr. a male in my last post. :) ))

"I'm so sorry doctor! I guess I'm still not used to this body. Even some gross motor skills are difficult to relearn it seems. Let me help you up."

Bend down and help the doctor up. While doing so, pocket her keys.

"About the nearby planets, which are potentially habitable? And are many known to hold any potential for new discoveries? I've been itching to get involved in any form of science ever since my accident..."

Oh fine. Those guys won't be helpful to me.
Stop.
Objectives - check.
Weapons -
Hamilton weights the stun baton in his hand - check
Skills - those are still as if I would be in great shape in my real body - check.

So, let's retrieve some keys in abusive way

Walk to the Nanotech research wing. Watch carefully for needed researchers. When seen, try to demand the key for security reasons (which is not true of course, but they will never know it, right?)

It appears to be a standard plastic door that swings out. The door itself won't make noise but the metal handle will when turned.

Open the door quietly. If Ashcroft turns to look at me, invite both him and Pirate Dave (how come we have two Daves?) into the office. If he doesn't hear me opening the door, grab him by the throat from behind and drag him in, then strangle him until he passes out.

Overcome by tenseness, you struggle to form any words and instead just gibber incoherently. You raise a finger as if you finally figured out what you were going to say, only to witness the researcher being dragged into the office behind him by a pair of robotic hands.

[4] Slowly and carefully twisting the knob, you open a crack in the door to observe the situation with. One of your squadmates seems to be trying to tell the researcher something. Or perhaps he is simply distracting him! You move quickly to seize the opportunity.

You exploit the researcher's focus on... Dave... Dave Number Two?... Dave Number Two and grab him from behind, covering his mouth with your metal fingers and swinging him around and into the office with one swift motion. Dr. McDonald joins in, holding the poor researcher in place while you strangle the air out of him.

"Sorry old boy, just doing what's needed. Nothing personal," he whispers into the victim's ear. The researcher passes out and you snatch the key.

[5] Not minding the sudden movements your squadmates seem to be making, as your HUD indicates, you focus on the work of constructing a device to build even more nanites. You ponder your options and settle on a microscopic 3D printer as your only viable option... fortunately, your background in Engineering helps you in this case!

[1+1/7] The nanites do not, unfortunately, have the precision necessary to craft a device capable of building more nanites. The nanites are not only microscopic, but they are made up of a composite of different metals and components. Crafting tiny circuits buried in layers upon layers of carbon fullerines and alloys is some high-level stuff, and you won't be able to do it without either a more precise Cloud or some advanced machinery.

Samarkand AKA Felicia Hasting
Spoiler: Skills (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Cloud Status (click to show/hide)

((The dice seem to smile upon our party today))

[5] As the doctor grabs hold of a handle on the wall to slow her descent, you time your movements with the noise of her hand impacting the handle to snatch the keys and compress them in your hand before they rattle around. Knowing that they will make continue to rattle if you put them inside your suit's leg-mounted storage compartment ((think of Robocop's pistol holster)), you instead attach the keys to the side of your magnetic boot where they will stay put, remembering that you have them too and are in no way except from the lack of gravity. You will have to hide them later once you leave the doctor's side, however, as someone might notice the keys attached to your foot as you walk by.

You note to yourself that it doesn't feel like there's a lack of gravity. A side effect of the mechanization process, perhaps. It could also be an illusion, which worries you as there are many other things that the doctors can manipulate to trick you. Perhaps, for example, you may not even have control over your body! If each movement you make goes through a computer, that computer can regulate your actions if there happens to be someone in control. Fortunately there doesn't seem to be such a scheme in place.

...

Dr. Walker manages to stand back up and regain balance, although she seems nauseous.
"Ugh, don't worry. It's not your fault. I just... I'm not used to zero gravity environments. It was all me..."
She considers your question.
"Well unfortunately, there are no confirmed habitable planets that we can colonize in a reasonable amount of time. Reasonable meaning within an average human lifespan."
She put emphasis on the word confirmed in her previous sentence, leading into her next statement.
"However, once we get our Focal project underway, we will be able to use the sun as a gravitational lens and observe some of the closer exoplanets and get a better idea of their properties. With larger stars, it becomes more difficult to observe the properties of a planet for a number of reasons. With a telescope as powerful as Focal, however, we'll be able to get a crystal-clear image of anything within thirty lightyears."
The scientist seems fairly eager to explain her ideas. You haven't heard of Focal, but the concept of using the Sun as a gravitation lens isn't completely foreign to you.

Comrade P. AKA Hamilton Teromo
Spoiler: Skills (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Cloud Status (click to show/hide)

((Was that seriously three 5's in a row?))

[5] You slowly turn and leave the vicinity. You hear the door open with your enhanced hearing after you leave the hall, as well as the confused mumblings of the station's psychiatrist, but the stun baton has already disappeared inside your suit's storage compartment. You are already well out the door and heading to the Nanotech department to meet up with Avis and the two Daves. You just realized that you have two Daves in your party. That will have to be dealt with soon for the sake of avoiding confusion.

...

You walk past the security gates in the nanotech wing lobby and immediately start to look around. Your HUD paints two faces bright blue on separate sides of the room. One is Winston Arran, Chief of Staff. The other is Eveline Joyce, a novice researcher tasked with basic robotics prototyping.

Before you can think of a plan, you hear one of the security guards innocently ask a question to you from behind.
"Uh excuse us, but the gate reads you as part of security. I think there's been an error, but is there something you need to explain first before we check?"
