Iron is an abundant element that is directly made into steel. Without processing it is brittle and weak.
Carbon is an element found mainly inside asteroids and terrestrial planets. It is great for thermal shielding and can be used to create a variety of materials.
Hydrocarbons are a ready source of chemical fuel. They can be refined into energetic fuel for atmospheric craft, or be condensed into plastics for structural use.
Rare Minerals are, as their name implies, rare on Earth and thus incredibly valuable.
Rare Earth Minerals should not be confused with rare minerals. These are not so rare, and are key to building electronics.
Alloy Minerals are used to made durable alloys out of other metals.
Aluminium is a lightweight metal that is the material of choice for lightweight applications like aircraft and spaceships.
Titanium is similar to aluminium in that its strength/weight ratio is extremely high. However, it is extremely rare and requires processing to be useful.
Scrap consists of parts looted from nonfunctional electronics and machines. Each turn, your current scrap is converted into random resources.
Water is the blood of all spacefaring vessels and plays an important role in life as we know it. It is used as a coolant, propellant, solvent, and refrigerant and is absolutely vital to just about any operation.
---Processed---
Voxels are the basic building blocks for 3D printers onboard starships. They consist of polymers coated in a sealing agent, and can only be looted or purchased.
Steel is a high-strength building material with medium density. It is used in a variety of applications, ranging from airframes to armor plating. Made from: 3 Iron, 1 Carbon, 1 Alloy Minerals
Monocrystalline Iron is iron composed of a single crystal, free of defects. It is exceptionally strong, but difficult to manufacture in large quantities. Nonetheless, small shards are ideal for kinetic projectiles. Made from: 1 Iron
Titanium Alloy is titanium processed into a high-strength material capable of taking more stress than steel while being lighter to boot. This stuff puts aluminum to shame. Made from: 4 Titanium, 1 Aluminum, 1 Alloy Minerals
Polymers are plastics made from hydrocarbons. They can be used as-is for lightweight, low-strength applications, or be used in building carbon fiber for more critical uses. Made from: 3 Hydrocarbons, 1 Carbon
Carbon Fiber is an exceptional material, though brittle. It is ideal for armor and lightweight components, but requires complex machining processes to build and cannot be manufactured on the ship.
Fullerenes are forms of carbon such as graphene and carbon nanotubes, regarded widely for their great strength and useful thermal properties. They are used in heat-sensitive applications, armor, and tension members in construction.
Circuits are the core components of all electronics. They are needed especially for building nanites. Made from: 1 Polymers, 1 Rare Earth Minerals

[2] Opening up the map Anton located in a separate window, you begin to look for any infomation about the civilization and installations present on various objects in the solar system. Unfortunately, it seems that the map is strictly one for calculating travel costs and has no information on shipyards or ownership.
With that, you take a moment to understand what exactly has happened to the solar system during the time in which you were unaware. Titan has been colonized... and apparently there is a shipyard somewhere. One of the Orbiter habitats, perhaps? Perhaps the denizens of Habitat 0 used their space elevator to their advantage. You recall a project in its distant planning stages back when you were still working. The idea was to use engineering technologies inherited from the Skylander structural engineering in order to restore Habitat 0's space elevator and allow further Habitats past #14 to be constructed more easily.
You're not sure that the project could have been finished so quickly.

Constructor [1/3]
[2+1/7 = ~3] With your cloud inhabiting a 'bubble' of sorts around you, controlled carefully by magnetic repulsion and attraction, you begin to extend the bubble to surround the Spider Robots™ and invade their internal systems. Your nanites dig away at the joints, eventually working their way into one of the droids and invading the interior of the device. However you notice something very strange about the droid's interiors: they are hollow! With no electronics to take control of!
You feel the surface you are attached to rumbling as Wasp's engines start up outside of your control. The cable connecting Wasp to the pirate ship snaps under tension, [2] sending eight of the Spider drones flying toward Wasp's surface, near you! They attach themselves to the hull and begin to move in an organized fashion, surrounding you evenly at a space of about 2m.

Defend [2] (40%)[5] Still looking for information, you actually dig up something a little more immediately useful: some information on the beginnings of the Cloud program. This was in a file encypted differently from the others--perhaps the pirates kept the file but didn't know what to do with it. Or maybe it was just useless info to them.

I've finished a basic precept. I've attached it to this message.
---Quoted Text---
Researcher Morse,
Your contributions to the Cloud project are outstanding. With your help, we have devised a simple controller that lets us send commands to the nanites using a simplified scripting language. The beginner's handbook on how to use the language should be available to you.
For the future of the project, it is imperative that you learn the scripting language. For the CN to continue funding us, we have to show them some progress. When you have learned the script, could you design a basic precept and send it to us?
Thanks, Jason Resnick.
Level up: Hacker!New Precept: Defend! Create a defensive barrier of nanites, forming a directional shield 1m across that can block small arms fire. Requires a minimum roll of 2 to execute and reserves 40% of Cloud while active.Precepts are something I intended to introduce earlier during the tutorial, but the plot got derailed so I never got to reasonably introduce the concept.
Basically, the Cloud can be used to freely do whatever you want. However, Precepts are a special action that does not take up your turn. You can use as many precepts as you wish in a turn, and you roll independently for each. They are unaffected by your primary action.
The idea of precepts is that they are a pre-scripted command you can give to your Cloud, giving you greater power at the cost of versatility. Your character does not need to concentrate too much on using it, and the results are much more reliable than coming up with a unique solution with your Cloud each time. Precepts can be programmed by the players or looted, generally from data logs such as the one Comrade P's character has uncovered.

You take Wasp back by force. As it approaches the ship once more, you notice something strange going on before you dock it: Dave appears to be in a brawl with some mechanical spider-like drones on top of the craft.
