So, I’ve been brainstorming a little and I think I’ve found a way to adapt Secret Hitler for the forums. I’m wondering if I should host it here in the mafia sub or in FG&RP?
What do you guys think? Is there any interest?
Secret Hitler is a social deduction game consisting of two teams: Fascists and Liberals. Liberals outnumber the fascists, but don’t know who their allies are. Fascists by contrast do, except for one particular fascist designated as Hitler who knows just as little as the liberals.
The two teams compete to win elections and pass government policies that push their ideology’s respective agenda. The goal of the fascists is to pass 3 fascist policies and then get Hitler elected as chancellor. The goal of the liberals is to pass 6 liberal policies or more likely, figure out who Hitler is and assassinate him (which can only be done when certain fascist policies are passed).
Gameplay essentially boils down to figuring out which people you can trust to push your team’s political agenda and then convincing as many people as possible to vote for them. In my experience, the early rounds pass by quickly, but as the fascists progress their agenda and the stakes rise, absentminded voting transitions to passionate debates as players desperately try to avoid voting in Hitler or a president who might assassinate them.
The game plays a little differently from mafia since there’s less player elimination and no role flips on death, but it relies on many of the same skills so I thought it would be more at home on on this subforum
EDIT: For anyone curious about the user-friendly archive, I have pushed the plans back to Christmas. Right now, I'm in a very important period of my career as a budding programmer, and my current priority is to secure an internship for summer. It is a very scary time for me cause this very well may decide my job prospects upon graduation.
EDIT2: So unfortunately there has been a bit of a miscommunication with my family that has resulted in work on the mafia archive being pushed back a week. Expect the User-friendly version to be ready by New Years instead of Christmas.
