We seriously need a simple bastard game :I And that's me using 'seriously' as an intensifier. We could do with a beginner's bastard game. But honestly, I do think we need that.

I talked about a quick nightless mafia variant over in the setup discussion thread. It's meant to be fast and fun, with a low barrier to entry, so if people are interested in that for a quick dose of mafia I could set it up.

I've got a bastard design I'm cooking up. It'll need in order to be played:

1. 9 or so players, willing to stick in it for the long run in order to minimize replacements.
2. A favorable place in the queue.
3. A lack of procrastination on my part.
4. An experienced player or two, preferably Mephansteras, to vet it.
5. A certain book. Which I already have.
6. Me actually finishing the design. Or starting on it.

Thoughts on how difficult these 6 steps are?

Alternatively, there's the design that'll take preferably 21 players and will involve a dead king's will.

Yeah, 21 players seems slightly unreasonable. That king's will setup is built somewhat modularly though. I could run it at 5, 9, 13, 17, or 21 players. I think. For maximized !!fun!!, 21 is required, but 17 or 13 could also work. 17 might be preferred.

The first setup I mentioned does seem to be ideal though, considering the unlikeliness of getting a large number of players.

I feel like part of the reason fillipk's game has needed so many replacements is because it's hammer-only. People just don't get that same sense of urgency when they know the day isn't going to end unless it's intentional.

have people considered a auto-extention mechanic? days are only one day long but every time the majority vote changes the day is extended to 24 hours from that time. extentions cannot be added any other way.
