Needs a dock yards equipment and a lot of parts for most of it.
Which means council approval. I'll ask you once they agree.

And you get out of the goo.

Yay.

Anyway heres my idea. Space is big so searching for the pirates would take a long time.

So we bring them to us, paint fake scorch marks on the hulls and around our weapons and engines then move through pirate territory at low speed pretending to be damaged. They show up and we pretend to surrender, let them come close then hit there sensors and blind them.

The mod work I want is to refit the drone bay into a fighter bay and a Cargo bay into a landing bay.

As they come at us I launch my C.A.C and if I get them. My fighters and hide them on the other side of our ship from the pirates so they can't see it.

Take out the sensors and they have to use line of sight freeing my fighters to strafe weapons to disable them while I use my C.A.C to breach the pirates cargo bay and board them.

They're used to bullying weak ships they'll have no defense against a commando assault.
They'll know this ship has no hangars or fighter bays so they'll never see it coming.

We get the ship intact for brownie points with the council and if 1-2 security teams come along to keep them under control while I work then I can take prisoners giving us intel and base location from them and from the ships logs as well.

My regiment is the first and only force that is made to fight this way. They'll never see it coming.

There's one problem with that plan, and that is we just don't have the capacity to actually carry even a single squad :P

How so? The ship is plenty big enough to carry my units on top of it's crew.

Sounds kinda like typical marines or naval special forces to me.

The thing with refitting the cargo bay is that we need to put that cargo somewhere. Food. Oxygen. Spare parts, weapons, drones, all those need to be stored somewhere.

It also relies on the pirates swallowing the bait. What's to stop a cautious commander coming in with a pincer movement? Or simply blowing off any potential weapons before we can shoot? Or their ship outguns and outmans us.

But can it carry multiple fighters, pilots, and maintainance on top of that, includign the extra supplies required by such with less cargo room?

To be fair that was a very vague description.

Well it's only a rough plan right now. We can run light on supplies we're not going to far so resupply isn't to difficult.

As for the risks, I did consider them. Pirates want loot so if we surrender odds are they'll take the bait. The ship would be a good prize and if they out gun us then we run. We have no other choice.

It's not a great plan but it's the best I've got right now and the gains out weigh the costs.

I'm open to alternatives. I do want the fighters either way though. We need the extra defense.

You played MGQ? Take those for the base and add men and take away the... less forum safe bits. And add steam punk cyborg bits. That's about as far as I got as I was reading monstergirl stories from /a/.
