What is the plan once our upgrades are done? Like how are we going to proceed to get our job done KJ or Taricus?

Oh also do you want any fighters? 15 open slots left I can see about getting you some fighters or bombers.

Spoiler: CACs (click to show/hide)

These seem really, really expensive. I'd rather spend that amount of money to arm our main ship.

I like the Kinetic Cannons because they have the distance and reliability. The kinetic launchers are able to take out enemies from farther range by far, and also will hit a lot more frequently. Also, their armor penetration abilities are far better than missiles and laser weaponry.

You don't pay for them. I get them from the army on credit same as my fighters.

Then if me and Alex get results our funding continues and we eventually become a full regiment with a full fighter devision to support us and a carrier attached to our fleet to carry it all. But thats a very very long way off. If we screw up to much we're toast and the general is a laughing stock.

Well Giglamesh has both kinetic and missiles. I'd say it's better to have both then bank it all on one.

I will point out that kinetic weapons have the bonus of messing with then via throwing off their aim when you throw a big enough thing. Thus we need rail guns.

First we need to invent rail guns.

It does seem a huge anount of weaponry, really, but i'm guessing they are more HMG-sized rather than battleship sized like on our craft.

First we need to invent rail guns.

For all we know the kinetic weapons are railguns. Both ways it fires a metal slug.

I am a little concerned about the profusion of weaponry on the armoured carriers. If they can afford mark three armour and no less than 12 lasers, 2 plasma cannons, and 2 missile launchers on each, why are we not getting a star destroyer or something?

Different budget which is why I need approval from the admiral for everything. It is smaller versions of the weapons yes.

As for it's weapons and armor. It's a prototype assault boarding craft for commandos.
It's designed to muscle it's way onto warships with little or no support.
Heavy armor and serious fire power are a necessity or it would be suicide. It's designed to board in battle rather then once the target has been disabled.

It's cost is one of it's weaknesses. It's effective but the numbers of them I can buy are low so replacing them is very tricky if I don't get some major results to justify the expenditure.

The ships and people are my command but I'm part of the ships crew so my command is part of the ships force. Commands for it do have to go through me but they are the ships fighter squadrons and boarding craft.

This would be a lot better if we had cost estimates for everything we're buying. Currently, the cost of the CAC is open air right now, even if it's HMG sized weaponry. But if the missile launchers have the power the breach hulls...

Anyway, cost estimates would be nice. Otherwise, I'd like to order some things as Security Officer, since the boarding guys are getting roughly 100x the budget of me :P

Experimental boarding guys. I get no budget I just have my companies standard kits and rolled well enough to recruit new people.

You can try to recruit people as well but your still limited to security equipment. Which is basically what you have now until you get the money to buy anything more.

Also, your security we're heavy assault space troopers. Thats why our kit is better. Our kits fit our roles.

What are you gonna order? Your limited to laser rifles at best until you get training in better weapons. Your limited to that armor which is basically standard issue military so you can't get better anyway.

It uses all of it's forward firepower combined to breach hulls and even then it's not guaranteed.

A C.A.C costs roughly as much as 5 Talon Interceptors. Which cost about 2.5x as much as the current naval standard interceptor.

A note I think needs adding.

This is the military, if you need to acquire something related to your job you don't need money.

Just fill in a requisition and the dice. Or rather quartermaster or whoever is the relevant authority will decide via a luck roll.

As I did with my troops with the Admiral and Giglamesh is trying to do with parts.

Money is more for huge things like capital ships or non job related stuff.

Yeah, so long as the items you are requesting are for your job, can be explained with a reason as to why you need it, and your luck roll is good, then yeah, you can get free swag from the admiralty.

Also, C.A.C equipment are a bunch smaller and less powerful. Pretty much it can't damage a normal ship unless it's per boarding.

In short, anything bigger then a frigate is safe. I can breach the hull but thats with focusing the entire crafts firepower in one place and even then it'll only be big enough to get my ship in. On a warship even with all 5 I'd need weeks to do any serious damage.

You should be fine getting your stuff Whitius, your odds will beat mine by a mile.

I'm assuming warp in the fighters, I didn't even consider it until now but it does fit.

Sanure, can yo uexplain a little more about fighters and the armoured assualt craft? at the moment, they seem to be highly independant - spaceships in their own right. I was assuming they were more like fighter craft -requiring a central transport to move them about an donly deploying for short ranged conflicts. Instead, the fighters have FTL as well?

Also, the marines just buggered off without even asking their captain, he who is nomially in charge. Is that really ok?

Sorry if it feels like I'm being argumentative, but it seems odd to me.

EDIT: it's giving me vibes of the last game, where Alexiandria had her own army, basically, and went around doing her own thing. Her and PewdsRocks even had very similar play and writing styles.
