There you go.

So Fighters just need 1 person each so 20 people and the C.A.C. need 4 people so another 20

Total of 40 people, which you have recruited earlier..

The question was for the repair crews. The people who do diagnostics on the ships, repair them, upgrade them, prepare them for launch, rearm them and so on. Not to operate them.

How many engineers will I need to recruit to keep my craft fully functional.

Oh, each C.A.C and fighter will take 12 hours for repair each and about 5 engineers each, so do math?

UHm. How does a small fighter take as long as a big C.A.C lol?

Probably simpler in crustion - larger, but without the delicate balance and thrust systems required by a fighter.

((and acceptable gamification.))

Hmmm point taken. So a crew of 50 could repair the whole lot in a day if they worked through and every single one of my craft came back damaged but intact and what are the odds of that lol?

A 50 man flight crew should be sufficient.

Yeah.... we agreed to be fired at planets in a metal coffin and generally walk into situations that have a high probability of getting us killed. One more risk ain't gonna stop us.
I'm sure the launch tube will accomodate launching in pairs at least or can be modified to allow it. With these crafts speed and maneuverability and some practice for rapid launching I think I can get my wings out in short order.

Sorry, not trying to step on your toes or anything Giglamesh. How you build it and where you place it is entirely up to you.

Plasma cannon - 30000 each
Laser cannon - 15000 each
Kinetic Cannon - 5000 each
Missile Launcher MK1 - 1000 each
Basic Armor - 500
MK2 Armor 1500
MK3 Armor 3000

So we have 11.500 credits to spend, I vote for:

MK2 Armor
2x Kinetic Cannon

((Does armor stack?))

I'd have gone for MK3 armor, 1 Kinetic Cannon and 3 Missile launchers personally.
But in this case I think I'll abstain, I've got my fighters and C.A.C to play with the ship is yours.

Can I ask why you selected what you did? I selected mine because it adds durability and long range weaponry.

Well, the MK2 armor gives us moderate durability, and like Sanure said before, armor wasn't effective against how we were destroyed previously. I'm leaning towards using high powered, long range weapons, so that the enemy can't even get close.

I can see how you prefer missile launchers, as they can make hull breaches from where you may board, but using Kinetic Cannons to take them out before they can get within their weapon's range is a bonus.

Actually I selected them more for a different reason then breaching. I don't need the ships help for breaching my C.A.C have the muscle to force a breach themselves.

I selected missiles primarily because they can be altered to any situation. Different hulls, shields and armors will be effective against different weapons. Kinetic, Laser and Plasma all have specific defenses against them. A missile launcher you just select the right missile for the job.
A kinetic cannon if they have defense against it then thats all she wrote.

But I like adaptability, massive force is just as effective.

Point defence could take down any missiles before they hit, though. You can't shoot down a laser beam.

Plasma missiles maek sense, but laser missiles don't, so at best it has two damage types.

Now, I suggest this option:

Macross Missile Spammer
Armour Mark III
1 Kinetic cannon
7 Mark I Missile Launchers

Relies on flurries of missiles to cripple enemies. Might work well or terribly. Heavy armour will protect against more than just pirates -space debris, boarders, the whole lot will find heavier armour more difficult to deal with.

Uhm Giglamesh.
500 is for Mark 1 armor. Not the missile launcher. The missle launcher is 1000. Sorry.

Your suggestion is basically the same as mine, 1 cannon, heavy armor and then missiles. I love the idea but we don't have that much money :).

Remember though we already have a quad cannon, 2 laser cannons and a concussion launcher as standard for this ship.

Ah yes, i misadded the kinetic launcher as costing 1000 instead o 5000.

We could have

  3000 HvyAmr
  5000 KineCannon
  3000 3xMrkIMiss
11000

with 500 spare

Thats what I said earlier. Nice and balanced.

So far then it's a choice between.

MK 2 armor.
2x Kinetic cannons.

Or MK 3 armor.
1x Kinetic cannon.
3x Missile launchers.
