That's not even remotely true. Men and women are socialized so differently that difficulties in cross-gender communication, especially on emotional issues, are very common.

Fine: There's no inherent difference between men and women such that intercommunication is impossible or is even particularly difficult in a way that can only be blamed on the gender of those involved.

Oh, it is actually hitting the point.

It isn't in the gender socialization that differentiates the person, but the society the person lives in and their culture which attempts to affirm these 'differences'. Being socialized 'so differently' is a subjective notion which doesn't and isn't a correct way to generalize how people understand each other.

Especially on emotional issues. Especially on emotional issues.
Believe me. I've done and participated in many, many cross-regional and academic researches on that point (and 80% of said work is reviewing others) and I've seen little difference if any. Wherein that difference lies in how people perceive gender-specific events.
Cheeetar has the full grasp on the situation.

Saying that it isn't even "remotely" true is pretty much a...miswording, huh? ;)
