Tower of Guns - Out now - FPS Binding of Isaac?
« on: March 05, 2014, 05:59:08 pm »

Just gonna drop the blurb from the dev's site

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

In a nutshell it is a game where you pick a gun, go around a randomly generated modular map killing randomly (but always evil) deployed baddies for fun, XP and profit, upgrade your gun or yourself, get crazy weapon mods (you can have a shotgun missle launcher), find crazy items and fight bosses to progress in the dungeon. Oldschool FPS glory. Also a rather high difficulty curve assures you'll have a roguelike experience (took me 20 deaths to beat it the first time).

The dungeon variety is a bit low after some time you play, feels like the binding of isaac when it first came out, but given it's a one-man team it's quite a great game.  :D

Also, you can have N-tuple jump. Highest I got was 7-tuple jump.

TL;DR: Binding of Isaac-like FPS with less dead babies and more death tutus.

Disclaimer: I searched the forums for "Tower of guns" and found nothing. Blame the forum search for being bad if a thread already exists :p

I really want that one as a "when". I want "grubs", and "virgin woman" to turn into a dragon. and monkey children to suddenly sprout wings. And I want the Dwarven Mutant Academy to only gain their powers upon reaching puberty. I also have a whole host of odd creatures that only make sense if I divide them into children and adults.

Also, tadpoles.

It may be silly, but the only reason I am not getting this game is because it doesn't also have randomized weaponry.

Silly because it really doesn't need any.

I bought this by mistake a few months after having read about an FPS that had absolutely weird weapon powerups, like chaingun rockets, thinking this was it.

It isn't, and I still don't know what the other game is, but this one is definitely fun for a few playthroughs! I've yet to win, but I've had lots of !!FUN!! :P

Concept sounds hilarious and entertaining. Wishlisted because I'm tapped on funds right now.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

@Anvilfolk. The game you thought it was might be called Loadout. There's a thread about it on page two. A "construct your own weapon" fps type game.

Still, it doesn't sound like this one was that bad of a purchase anyway.
