Investigate the signs, post, and the ground nearby for messages or objects left behind by others before us.
Nothing interesting about the signs, post, or ground.
Rhogar sits in the chair that he carried behind himself all the way here, and surveys the surroundings along with the others. This seat is very comfortable. I am very glad that I never left it.

((How much does a chair cost? I should probably retcon pay for it))
What, really? This is just too nuts. I'm not going to write it off. Barkeep gave it to you on the house.
Perception check: attempt to pinpoint Waltom's house by matching features on the map with the surrounding area.
David's interfering kind of messes that up. Your best estimate is some way to the north, north-west, or west.

((...What interfering, exactly? I'm pretty sure David was assisting the Perception check, giving me a +2 to my roll if he beats a roll of 10 on his own Perception check.))

((Could've sworn you got a -2 penalty if your aide failed the check badly enough.

* Tawarochir checks his rulebooks

It's a -1 penalty. Either way, you still failed.))

((Yeesh. We must have both rolled badly. Sorry.))
Head to the northwest.

Climb the sign and peer into the distance.

((Noice. In case anyone was wondering why, Rhogar doesn't appreciate being sassed by David.))

Climb the sign and peer into the distance.

What is it? David seems to be thinking it's northwest, is that where you're looking?

Rhogar picks up his chair and starts to follow David while waiting for the answer.

"If northwest is halfway between north and west, then surely this is the best way to go."

You all head northwest.

You subsequently get lost in the rainy forest after about three hours of walking.

Activate Know Direction and attempt to find the house once more.
Navigate using Perception: d20+7

[horrible rolls, including an original failure by a huge margin, a success, and a failure]

You can tell that you're still heading vaguely northwest and are in roughly the same area as Waltom's house, but you're still lost.

"Perhaps a different perspective will help."
Fly to the top of a decently-tall tree. Check the surrounding area.

Ah! Finally. You spot a rather large (in comparison to the rest of the houses you've seen thus far in your adventures) stone house on top of a rather rocky hill overlooking a lake, in a spot where all the trees somehow look deader.

It is to the southeast. You must've overshot it earlier.

Climb back down, inform the others where to go and head in that direction.
