"Ladies, Gentlemen, what say you to returning to the Halflady and reporting the foul ruse that our foe hath wrought on us and possibly her?"

Keyleth shrugged.
"Will she believe us?"

"We have the book, do we not? It is a start. Perhaps if we interrogate the thieves before, they will back up our story."

Indeed, let us return. If nobody has objections, perhaps I could carry back our "friend", as further evidence?

Keyleth shrugs and drags the gibbering madman behind her. She has very little in the way of possessions so her load is rather light.

I'm perfectly cool with updating this, if you guys are still in.

Alright, then. I'm just going to assume everybody's cool with this decision, because of speeding things up. Whoever doesn't post in the thread within a week gets fired, to sort out the people who don't have time or don't actually use the forum anymore.

Everybody treks back to town, rather grimly. You return to the castle, dragging the body, and inform the Halflady of his misdeeds and such. She thanks you for demolishing this vile criminal and pays you each an even 100 gold pieces. and yet more free training, sufficient to bring you to level 3 to boot.

You are all, however, out of a job now. Perhaps you could poke around, go into some inns, find someone offering a quest?

Keyleth goes to the first inn she can find, locates an unobtrusive corner, and uses her Insight to look for people who might need help, or might be looking for some hired muscle.

[9 + ...1] Keyleth drops by an inn. There's a man, sitting at a table, who looks inhumanly nervous. He could probably use some help.

((Welp.))

Keyleth approached the man and sat down in a chair across from him.
"Are you in trouble?"

The man looks at you worriedly.

"Y--yeah. Big."

"C... can you h... help me?"

His stutter is really kind of slightly unsettling.

"Maybe. What is it?" While waiting for the man's response, she sent a telepathic message to any of her comrades that were nearby: Over here, I think I found some work.

ninja'd
Rhogar, hearing the message, strolls into the inn with his crown on his head, proclaiming, I hear that there is a Hero's job being offered around here. If so, then you're in luck, because I have come directly here from the slaying of a great and vile wizard! Seeing Keyleth, he walks over and asks the man, Is it you who is in need of my noble services? If so, how may I serve your no doubt glorious cause?

After hearing the man's plea, he sweeps off his crown, bows, and replies, No fear, good sir! My friends and I shall slay these monsters this very night!
