Kick down the door with the fiery sword on it. Sorry I haven't been more helpful, friends; I appear to have been daydreaming.
Rhogar smashes down the door, only to find a large hand-shaped indent in the wall and the cryptic statement "yek si eman tsal".

"Er... how do you intend to get out? Hang on, how far up can you get this sconce? If we can get that up onto the ledge, we should be able to double up the rope and pull you out."

Before we try to escape, I'll have a look around for anything interesting.

"Oh, while you're here, can you do anything for my leg? I landed on it pretty hard."

Perrin finds a single copper coin in a corner and... oh, look! At the end of the room opposite from the door side is a secret door, likely a maintenance shaft from the builders.

((You know, I was actually wondering how they built it without a maintenance door.))

"David! I've found a way out, although it doesn't appear that we were intended to find it. Shall we go before those spikes start moving again?"

Spend the healing surge and open the door.

You heal and find a staircase leading to the platform at the other end of the room.

Feeling somewhat inadequate, David follows Perrin.

"This whole place makes no sense to me."
Head back to the little forest in my door, and check it out

Keyleth sits down in the hub room to meditate.
"Let me know if you need any help."

The forest is boring except for a boulder with markings that suspiciously resemble "move me".

Move that boulder. Ask Keyleth for help if I can't.

Cromwell tries and fails to push that boulder out of the way. With Keyleth's assistance, however, you again fail. You're not in a rush, so by simply taking a 20, you push that boulder out of the way (eventually). In the place behind, you discover a warhammer. Picking it up feels... normal. (Automatic proficiency FTW) Suddenly, a rather loud boom emerges from the hammer. Seems to be a THUNDER HAMMER.

Perrin climbs the stairs and finds a treasure chest. Instinctively opening it, Perrin discovers a short sword, ornately carved to resemble a wolf. Picking it up feels... normal. As you close the chest, it clicks just a little too loud, and the pit's walls abruptly slam shut. Fortunately, David followed you up the stairs. There is now a sort of "floor" on the way out of the pit.

Inspect the chest for a false bottom. It is my puzzle, after all. Regardless, swing the sword a few times to get a feel for it, and then chop at the chest.

The chest has a perfectly fine bottom. You swing the sword around and quickly dent the chest.

David steps into the big room, standing back from the rest of the group, and practices with his new sword, testing it's qualities.

After puzzling over the message for a couple seconds, Rhogar shouts, Open in the name of the house of Firehand! and places his hand in the handprint.

You do so. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. The letters rearrange to ".ragohR ,laretil eroM".
