Ai Shizuka:1. Sling shots travel in direction of your mouse pointer. In fact, it might be even they HIT where your mouse pointer is, but I'm not sure. If however you actually ARE using pointer to aim and still keep missing, then it's very much probably the case of camera position/depth perception. Dunno how to explain it properly, but basically when aiming you'll want your target to be directly above/bellow you and your mouse pointer directly on it - when shooting at things in horizontal line, I found it I also often missed my target because the game registered my mouse pointer as being placed beside, not on top of my target. Hope that explains it a bit.
2. Both assumptions are possible. Try moving the fishtrap to a different location, that's the best suggestion I can give you. Or you could just try again and see what happens. And try exploring your surroundings, if there's another lean-to nearby, the second option is quite possible.
3. Well, if you manage to get your own iron production going, you are pretty much good to go, imho. A lot of late-game items and also some inspirationals require iron.
4. Beats me, I asked myself the same question.
So yeah, I in fact still play Salem every second or so day. I do feel sad I kinda let our little town down, but I figured I'm not the best team player... I'm too much of a loner I guess.
But anyways, quite some stuff happened in the meantime.
DJ's post up above summed everything quite nicely, but let me just add Salem right now feels faster, with more stuff to forage, skills easier to get and consequently simply more stuff to do. Personally, I getting along quite nicely on my own piece of soon-to-be-double walled-off land, despite having the pleasure of being killed once. Character development feels less tasking now to the point I'm planning on making a scalper/raider alter somewhere in the future.
And not only this - Salem simply feels more
alive. Teleport to Boston and there is bound to be at least SOME people walking around when in the past it was just a ghost town (at least in my timezone). Oh yes, I've seen it all - mansandwich at the statue, someone carrying around a freshly scalped, bunch of people being chased by crazed turkeys, spider in the middle of a town... And not to mention there are organized fighting tournaments. And the updates that just keep rolling. All in all, Salem right now just feels more, you know,
alive. Also this:
Let me direct your attention to the colors of the bars. What do we see there? Up right, we have blood. Color - red. Then on right is phlegm in blue. Bellow it, yellow bile. And on the right - you've guessed it, it's black bile.
What is so special about it? Well, 3 out of 4 colors now match the stat names they are representing. And why is THIS something to talk about? Well, because before the new guys took over, the colors went something like this - red, yellow, black, green. Stats were the same, btw. An illogical color composition that took more than a year and an entirely new team to actually get right. I mean, how hard would it be for the old management to just change the damn colors?
So yeah, I am greatly pleased with the direction Salem is going in currently.
