Wait, so what is happening? I remember you guys saying about a bunch of little settlements close to each other that are Bay12, now it seems like a town.

Sort of two options. We got 3 (or 4?) of us making a town. We have our walls up, a mine built and coal being made. We have one guy doing farming and I am working towards all the metal working skills. We need more people. PM myself or Imofexios.

There was a different group that was doing a sort of loose knit community thing. Not sure what their status is.

Either way, trade between friends is far easier in salem than it ever was in HnH. We can always meet in Boston. Easy Peasy.

Fikes is setting up a town town, I'm setting up a loose knit community. If you want the spread out thing, contact me or anyone in it.

And I certainly have Sengoku, thank ya! Don't be afraid to take anything you need out of my stuff, as a note.

Sounds like Salem has tons more communication than HnH, sounds great if both options could potentially meet up.

Learned Backalley Pugilism.

Lo and behold, I have become death of the cricket-kin, the Cricketbane, the Harvester of the poor insectoid souls.

Really, in good hour or so yesterday I made 3 cricket teams. My biggest problem I am facing now is actually finding enough of those jumping little fucks to satiate my hunger for silver.

Working towards quarrying now, then settle then then prospecting? Or Blacksmithing? Probably the later, depends if I'll join the town or not.
Then again, maybe I should rush settling first and just forget quarry skill. So much choices, so little (a.k.a. none) inspiration... :-\

Also, why can't I see names in chat? Do I have to learn literacy or what?

edit: never mind, found it.

I would recommend going for settling first that way you can protect your junk from every tom dick and harry who wants to break it.
After you claim it, only the dicks can break your stuff.

If you think Backalley Pugilism is cricketbane, just wait till you get fencing ;)

Yeah true, but right now I'm not as much concerned about that as my camp isn't anything special right now and there isn't much potential thieves can steal/destroy. And my problem is I am low on inspiration and half-way towards leveling mines and mountains to level 18 and I'll loose too much if I switch to settle now...I'll play with fire for a little while.  :P

I believe you, but this is still way better then trying to punch crickets to death as I did before.  :D

Either I'm logging in at the wrong times, or loose town is a very loose town. I only see Seriyou's camp here, and I've trekked around it to see no other village.

IIRC Seriyou is going for a "loose-knit neighborhood" type of settlement, Imofexios & Fikes have a town which is supposed to be quite far from Seriyou's camp.

In other news, I think I'll go for leather-making, let Fikes be the blacksmith. :)
Took hideworking and if I take quarrying later, I can make milk of lime quite easy so tanning shouldn't be a problem. And if nothing else I can sell leather on stalls in Boston so I'll bring silver in town.

Well, Salem seems to be a lot more complicated than HnH was. Might sound nooby, but how the hell do I pick these nice bushes? I have the foraging skill at least.

Right click -> pick berries (or whatever it says).

Note however you can't do that if the bush is empty, that is, has already been picked. There is no clear indicator how you can tell picked bush from full instead of right clicking, as far as I am aware.
Also, dunno if berries grow back and how long it takes if they do.

I have been doing some hide working as well. Remember all hides give 1 leather. If I have more dried hides than brains I sell the beaver hides and leatherinate the rabbit ones.

In other news I killed a deer today. Hot damn they give a lot of meat! Once I knew I could I went after more. So far the score is 2 dead deer two KOs by deer.

Getting Fencing or Fast Moves next, should help alot.
