Are map chunks are automatically saved with ender? Is there any way to tell your cords in game or do you just have to find yourself on the map?

Alright, I spent the night beating the crap out of 50-60 crickets, so let me tell you how to hunt them down quickly and efficiently.

STEP 1: Know Backalley Pugilism.
STEP 2: Own a Slingshot.
OKAY NOW HOW TO ACTUALLY FIGHT IT.

First, launch a rock at it, and hit.
Then, time a stomp so perfectly that the god of stomping weeps, in that the cricket is stunned by the stomp before he attacks you.
Lastly, run up and uppercut that poor sod.
Boom, dead cricket.
I did all this at I believe 11 or 12 Yellow Bile, and I only needed to eat every 3-5 kills, depending on how bad I messed up.

EDIT: ALSO, You can also just spam stomp to kill crickets, efficiency be damned.

Sounds about right! I aggro them with stomp back off a bit, attack, back off, attack, dead, myself. A little less tricky, but you prolly take more damage.

Seriyu! We were on H&H together. I'd be interested in trying this out. From what I've seen, it looks decent, and if there's an equivalent of an HS in this game, I'd love to start with some fellow Bay12ers.

Will be interested in trying Salem again, I like the idea of a loose knit town.

Eyy! Send me a message asking for the HS. Going for the loose knit town setup, but I do intend to share and keep in touch in general, so!

Likewise anyone else is free to, as well.

My little town has its first hovel. Now I am saving silver for seeds and experience for beaver skinning so I can start getting brains.

Unless someone more established wants to meet me in Boston and trade some good scavenged curios for seeds...

Just a note, I didn't know I needed a claim to allow people to teleport to my settlement, so don't bother messaging me for a bit. I'm close to a claim as is though, so it shouldn't be too long.

I can also tell you from experience that once you get your claim up you'll want to reposition (or better yet destroy) your lean-to. The claim actually has to be designated your homestead and there has to be room on it for someone else's lean-to.

Anyone willing to trade me seeds for something a newb can produce?

Any way to tell where you are in relation to the map?

I'll be sure to do that, thank ya!

In other news there's been 3 bug fixes in the last hour and a particular large faction that has perhaps not the greatest reputation is weeping intensely for lost metal purity via bug abuse.

EDIT: My hearthsecret should actually work now, for those that have been given it.

So I'm checking Wikipedia for Salem, to see if there are any useful links/info there or something before I start playing.

And I see this:
Quote
The game is set in a fantastic 17th century New England featuring witchcraft and Lovecraftian creatures.
:o
wat
I'm gonna play the shit out of this game.

There's not much of that, yet.

Presumably they'll go in "the darkness" which is an area at the edge of the map that drains your humors (meters, life, stamina, that sorta thing), at a decent clip, the farther you go in, the faster they drain, and the effect can be pushed back by churches, lights, etc.

As of now, the only exclusive darkness creature is an argopelter, which is a bizzare looking bird thing that tosses branches at you. THey're damn deadly, and in my opinion fairly creepy (in a cartoonish sort've way), but I wouldn't really call them Lovecraftian.

I just got killed by a damn frog.

It didn't kill me directly, no, not even beavers could do that.

Instead if managed to block my path and prevent me from swimming to shore.

The rage is strong.
