words

Actually due to the new gluttony system there's basically no reason to eat food nigh constantly. On top of it there's no traditional "hunger" meter so there's no obligation to eat to stay alive specifically (although you will be miserable and unable to do anything).

It's honestly a system I like quite a bit more then HnH's, even if it boils down to the same basic thing.

Also I've already settled, but having a small "neighborhood" sounds like a pretty ideal situation, honestly.

DJ! Do you need strong farms to provide you with endless linen? I always did want to play H&H alongside you again, found that the people were always more fun than the content.

I don't think cloth is a thing anymore (you mostly buy clothes from town, tailoring comes in with "slotting" things into clothes, and makes clothes more then a way to cover your shame), but farming is intensely more complex, so having a dedicated farmer that understands the shenanigans going on would probably be helpful. Prepare for a learning curve!

My computer is being completely retarded and blocking the program from running.
Disabled my firewall, but apparently it's some bullshit 'security settings' causing the problem. ::) Screw you, windows.

Might be Java's security settings, I know I had to set mine to medium from high to get it to run.

I had to set mine from medium to low to get it to run. Is it preventing self-signed applications?

I'm on seven and "medium" was inexplicibly the lowest setting, so yeah. Medium is probably actually low on windows seven.

I think it's preventing things without a security signature, but I really know next to nothing about these things.

Right, it was Java. I fixed that, but now the game just crashes when I try to create a character.

It says medium, but it means low. They just don't want to say it.

I'll b getting into farming and more craft-oriented fun, myself.  Complicated systems are no problem for me, and if anything I'll quickly start gaming them into easily mastered systems based on size of layout and effective inventory space.  I had designs for HnH farming that could produce consistently higher quality crops with massive overflow and little complication.  I think I'll be able to tackle Salem farming with similar ease.

But yeah, like the others said, I'm all for a loose neighborhood. I'd have much more incentive to play if I knew that I wasn't grinding alone.

If someone has a claim and a secret I'd join up. I played a lot last night and made up a nice collection of stuff. I knew it was risky because the area was inhabited and sure enough, today everything not nailed down is gone, including the whittling table, lol.

Anyways, I can make another character and help out a villiage. If no one is up for it, I am going to wander tonight until I find somewhere good to setup shop and make a claim of my own. I am up to 80 silver, so pretty close.

For those getting into the game I recommend training your character up to the second fighting skill, back alley something, and building a sling. Try to get your yellow bile and blood up and then go cricket hunting. Get 11 together and build a cricket team. Those you can sell to the NPCs in Boston for 40 silver.

As for the overall quality of the game... there are obviously some flat out stupid design decisions, like the whole humor system. Black bile is green for fucks sake! And they don't match the colors you see when you mouse over food. It is a terrible system. It would have been so much simpler to say change blood to health, black bile to mental focus, yellow bile to endurance, and the last one to stamina. It would still be ambiguous but leagues better than the system in game.

I've got a tiny place set up, sawsbuck, drying rack, crafting table thing, the works. No house yet, but as we're forming a looser knit community this time that doesn't matter much. There's a positively monstrous autumnul forest up north too, which is great for mushrooms and chestnuts.

If people would like to use my secret to disperse from, feel free to message me!

Downloaded Java, tried to run the game, errors and says resources won't load, disabled firewall/AV, errors, set exception in Java, errors, repeatedly delete cache, errors, etc.

Don't think this one is meant for me.

Yeah, I've tried and tried, cleared my Java cache etc., but I'm still just getting crashes when I click the button to create a character.
Damn, I really wanted to play this with you guys. :-\
