1. Raiding and general crime changes - braziers now stack. That's right, no more min-maxing with trying not to put too many braziers in range while hoping holes in said range won't bring you down in the long run. No more needlessly over-complicating things, now it's just more braziers --> more defense. Simple as that.
As for crime - there's been some change in scent duration but I don't know the exact numbers. Also, criminals can now be punished by being put in stockades in Boston - no more killing a guy over a stolen hat and hoping he doesn't kill you back, you can now publicly mock them and throw tomatoes at them!
Speaking of killing - there's this revenge kill skill now available, that does just what it says and it's cheaper than the Kain&Abel skill from the past (which is still available, iirc). Still leaves death scent tho.
2. Witches and monsters - that's right, Salem is slowly but steadily becoming the "Lovecraft inspired" crafting mmo we were promised. Witchcraft was added few updates ago and while I haven't personally dabbled in it as doing so does bear some negative consequences, players may now curse each other. I think curses range from phlegm loss to outright death, but as said, I'm not really familiar with this system. You can also be cured of curses by the priest in Boston.
One more monster was added (I think, more on that later), Wishpoosh, the demon beaver. Haven't encountered one myself, but yeah, we are slowly getting more monsters to be afraid of.
Kinda related to all the witch business is the new burial system - skeletons can now be buried in simple graves. They can be shown respect in return for some sort of temporary bonus. Even cooler, mausoleums can be built. Keeping the skeletons away is rather important now, because if a witch gets a hold of your skeleton, apparently spooky scary things can happen. To you.
3. Mining overhaul - we can now mine DOWN. And we can now mine ANY TILE, no need for burning them out first. HOWEVER, ore boulders are now NOT guaranteed to be mined out every time. You can now mostly get rubble boulders but also silver ore boulder which let you mint silver coins. Aw yeah. Other boulders can also be mined I, me thinks. And speaking of mining down - I think either purity ore frequency or both increase the further down you get, however, if you mine too deep... you fall into a scary scary place. I'm not sure if there are new monster down there (as I said above) or it let witch players to somehow gain access to your being or something, but yeah, scary scary.
Together with mining overhaul, metalsmithing industry got expanded. No longer are iron bars "iron" bars, they are now "pig iron" bars. They can be further made into wrought iron bars, and ultimately into steel. Also, we can now get gems and various powders from mentioned rubble boulders. The first, as far as I know, are used to up the new social rank (only people with high enough social can go to Boston church, for example (anyone can still "use" priest though, as he is outside)), the second ones are used for misc things - golden powder let's you make golden bars, black sand lets you create glass (that's right, glass industry is in!) and I think there's one that let's you create black powder? Because iirc firearms are becoming/will become more important one of these days. Speaking of weapons, we can now forge halberds as well as make simple wooden clubs.
