Should I cheat and change a reaction so we can make an anvil and thus turn moods back on?

Nah, we can do without inane items, even if it'd be amusing to see you rage over amulets.

What about my guy?

Everyone waiting for someone has two choices.

Either adapt the character for use with a family, or continue waiting for a situation like Asea's. As it stands the main reason three people have gone unhiver'd is because they have almost all (again, except for Asea) come from rather large families, especially the Lowes.

SUCCESS! After countless months working on this Emperor forshaken thing I have managed to get this stupid radio to work! I swear that if I EVER locate the son of a bitch who used this helmet as a soup bowl... But anyway...

After all the things we've discovered here I'm tempted to look into replacing a couple of my organs with holy machinery and request permission to set up a local chapter of the Cult Mechanicus. There is just so much knowledge that has been abandoned and forgotten here over the years and the sure influx of it is mind blogging. Even if I am not recognized as an official techpriest due to my work here, an iron stomach that can ensure that I'm not going to curl up and die from eating or drinking any of the local foods and water would bring me some peace of mind...

I'll send a request the next time a caravan comes in. If they ask why it took me so long to inform them, I'll just say that I wanted to make sure that there was more then just a single find here before bringing it to their attention to avoid getting their hopes up.

If we're lucky they won't just send a kill team in to wipe us out. While I doubt it will come to that if we requester, some techpriests are... kind of dangerous when it comes to non-Mechanicus members discovering how the machine spirit works. We will just have to wait and see...

Actually there is a noble position called "Rogue Techpriest," if you're interested.

I would very much like this position. I would love it!

Out of interest, what are Artyom's current ability levels? I'm interested in seeing just what he is good at.

And where Moods turned off? Because I kind of hoped they weren't.

Consider it yours.

He is both a legendary miner and technician (mechanic,) as the reclaimator station uses that skill and until relatively recently he was the only one with such skill in the entire settlement, leading to tooooooons of practice. That means if we need to do anything involving mechanisms or other machinery, need something dug in a timely manner, or need something killed with a piece of industrial equipment he's the man to turn to. He also appears to be the one in charge of assembling heavy stubber and flamer emplacements (speaking of which we have one of those now :D just need fuel for it to be put to use.)

Honestly it's why he's the most frequently mentioned individual in my updates.

And where Moods turned off? Because I kind of hoped they weren't.
Unless I cheat and change a reaction to produce an anvil, moods have to stay turned off. Our metalworkers are few and far between so we can't risk moods.

I wouldn't be against us making or buying an anvil. Just saying.

Wouldn't be able to buy one as far as I know. Would have to gen a new world for that. I guess I can put up a vote on it.

I dunno if the script for that in dfhack can make anything other than raw materials.

Pity.

Well, could we make one then take away the script again?

And also, can one produce bottles in the game? I cant seem to.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Evidently they need to come in fucking bottle crates that need to be unloaded in the receiving bay. Seems Suds forgot to include a production reaction and to include a crate with the rifle industry start. Basically have to live off polluted water for two years.

Well, I cant do that.

On the otherhand, they are about 100points each.

And you can save about that much with the wooden axes.

What flavor of madness did you have this morning? I prefer the Screaming Voices swirl.
