You forgot to count my vote for Vector, so I'm putting it up again.

That might not be forgetting ("Nominees chosen in the current cycle cannot vote").
Okay, I can kinda understand the reasoning behind voting for a game rather than a person, but what's the logic here?

I didn't want people voting for themselves. Also, I work under the assumption that entrants actually want the game they apply for, thus there wasn't a need to have the option to vote for another entry. Otherwise that would be hypocritical altruism as they took up an applicant slot which could have been taken by another who actually wanted to win.

Then again, the whole purpose of this thread is for me to lose weight while giving back to the forum that provides me entertainment and perhaps providing entertainment in return. I don't really mind a few extra votes here and there, but others might.

Don't worry, the crazy voting mechanics that nobody understands is part of the entertainment.   :P

I think this thread is inspiring me to take an interest in this whole Kantai thing.

Eh... It's one of those games where the community makes it good, you know what I'm saying? The game itself is pretty shallow and repetitive, but then you see all of the artwork/comics/whatever that comes out of it...

I don't think the community has developed any fangames for Kantai Collection yet, which is a shame because I feel like they'd be particularly awesome. Or at least better than the actual thing.

Pretty much this. You get the "Ooh shiny" when you start out, but once you hit HQ Level 80-ish it really slows down.

Not to mention a lot of this depends on RNG whims, especially you try getting specific ships. Expect to run maps upwards of 50-60 times to get the ship you want; and god forbid it's an LSC-only ship.

Well, at least if it's a LSC-only ship you should have plenty of resources to try and make it from the 50~60 map runs you're doing... Key word being should here. I have absolutely no idea how the economy works at high levels.

It's not so much the resources but the devmats, trying to get Musashi took 14 tries on 4000/6000/6000/3000/20.

As far as I know, the only way to get devmats, are expeditions, quests and world 2-4. Not too difficult but quite time-consuming. Most expeditions only give a single devmat, and even then it's only a moderate chance even with drums.

It's not that hard, just make sure to retreat if the compass might send you to the boss node. After you get your second fleet you can start running expeditions all the time to get resources.

My dreams are not unlike yours - they long for the safety, and break like a glass chandelier.
But there's laughter and oh there is love, just past the edge of our fears.
And there's chaos when push comes to shove, but it's music to my ears.
