Okay, new system.
On a week-to-week basis.
Sunday is the day the snack budget is added to the thread budget.
Monday/Tuesday are the days when I will accept new entries for things to buy.
Application is simple enough, name the game, the price, and the venue to buy it (Steam/Desura/GoG/etc).
We'll limit the number of applications to 8 for now.
I'm removing the $10 limit, the limit is now the amount of money in the thread's budget. The maximum still applies to things that specify open amounts, such as donations.
Remember that you cannot apply for 3 weeks after you've gotten something. Those who didn't win are welcome to try again.
In the interest of fairness, you cannot apply until after I say "applications are open", which will be at a random time. Those who try to apply before applications are open will be ignored.
Wednesday/Thursday are the days you can apply your votes. Note that you cannot vote if you have an active application.
Friday is the mutual consumption round, where I set the RNGoddess to omnomicide your hopes and dreams.
The rules for the mutual consumption round are simple.
Each application rolls a 1d20 against another, the winner advances in simple elimination manner.
For each $1 that an entry has above its opponent, it gets a d1 penalty. So a $5 game vs a $4 game rolls a 1d19 instead.
However, for each vote that a game has, it gets a d1 bonus. So a game with 3 votes rolls a 1d23 before $ penalties are considered.
Friday/Saturday is the day the winner receives his/her prize. Money remaining in budget carries over to the next cycle.
Depending on extenuating circumstances such as sales, the process may be expedited.
And for Armok's sake save your pugilistic tendencies for when the time is appropriate.
Oh, and this won't apply until the next cycle unless people specifically ask for it now.
