Hey! Does anyone have suggestions for must-have games that aren't Steam exclusive? I've been wanting to put in for something for a while now, but haven't come across anything.

Of course I'd ask what you were looking for before making any kind of suggestion, although if there's a particular kind of game you simply haven't tried that's also a good reason.

Personally, lately I tend to look for things that I want to try to expand my understanding of what works well (is fun, etc) and what doesn't work as well in games. Or because I've never played them before and they're held to be the best ever (Homeworld 1+2, for example), and everyone says they do things better than modern games, but can't explain why, so I want to see for myself.

Very few general "must have" games are Steam exclusive.
If you gave a more descriptive parameter of what you consider "must have", then we could make better suggestions.
For anything more than 5-10 years old, GOG is the best source, and most of the titles they pick up are the ones that have done well, or still have a following.
