Despite having rescued yet another damsel in distress, Kyle’s attitude was far from sympathetic. He callously presented the situation as a win-win. Either she helped, and they replaced the recently lost Cromwell Jackson, or she didn’t, and they killed her.

In response to these words of wisdom, Will fell asleep in a blood soaked chair, and found himself feeling rather groggy, while Clair salvaged a hammer to use as a back-up.

Amidst this staggering lack of enthusiasm, a mirthful soul drifted in, catching the attention only of Rachel, who couldn’t afford to point it out and risk being called crazy. Instead she watched silently as faces contorted with emotions of unnatural origins. Clair became annoyed, Will saddened, Kyle suddenly felt rather carefree and jovial, and Joe felt, for the first time in his life, safe.
