Swing at the mage again

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

Don't bother drawing sword. Punch his face and knee his groin. Keep his rapier down.

As this point we might as well invoke interpretive dance and call it a day.

In the Opposing Compound

Joe saw the fight was devolving, and both the archers were being directly attacked. He positioned himself as central to the combat as possible, and was able to draw the attention of the axman. That helmeted foe rushed towards Joe and brought his ax down hard. Neither of Joe’s shields interceded on his behalf, and the menacing axe struck him squarely. Only his dented armor saved him, deflecting the blow so that it caught only a small amount of exposed flesh on his arm before glancing off of his gauntlet, and finally away from his person. While the Axman was busy attacking Joe Kyle saw an opportunity and loosed an arrow at him, sinking into his flesh near his right shoulder.
Joe needn’t have worried about Will. His assailant was expecting the archer to cower in fear of his hammer, and so was caught entirely off guard when Will leapt under his hammer and lodged his knife deep between his rival’s ribs. The hammerman looked down briefly in shock before stumbling over into a corner of the room and slouching to the floor, the dagger still deep in his lung.
Clair persisted in her attempts to completely disable the mage, and scored another strike. This new wound was not as large as the last, but it was clear that the blood loss was accumulating, and the mage was looking as pale as a ghost. He tried to lunge at Clair with his dagger but was so weakened by his blood loss as to be entirely ineffectual.
Cromwell kept his opponent pinned beneath him, and threw a couple of wild punches. One landed, but had no real effect.

Drifting around Altera

The dreaming soul dashed off, leaving the beach behind, and found a hut that was clearly operated by a member of the Alchemists Guild. Inside were all manner of strange concoctions. There was clearly a section of herbs that were meant to be medicinal, but besides those the soul found a collection of jars which appeared to contain the offal from different species of animal. These sat near a wooden bench pockmarked with blood, supporting any number of knives, mortars and pestles, candles, distillation apparatuses, and any number of other tools the purpose of which the soul could not discern. Leaving the strange laboratory behind it found a room with six cots in it, one of which was occupied by a young man that had a gash along his entire left leg, and it appeared to be infected. Inside of this gash was a strange cream colored poultice, which the alchemist seemed to be replenishing at the time. Taking energy from the sleeping patient was a simple matter, and the soul also endeavored to brighten up the man’s feverish dreams.

The wandering spirit made crude gestures which it was sure, if it could be seen, would have offended the mage’s sensibilities. Following this it drifted towards the poorer sections of Varisport, and was able to find a number of people trying to catch a brief bit of sleep. They made for easy marks, and it left feeling more powerful.

Close with the axeman, using my short shield reach to crowd him for space and prevent him fighting effectively.
