In the Opposing Compound
Joe kept the axman pinned in the corner, providing an easy target for
Clair. Her ax came rushing past Joe only to be deflected by the helmet of the pinned opponent.
Will’s attempt to deal with the swordsman didn’t go any better, his arrow shooting past the now mobile opponent.
It was at this moment, however, that
Kyle came in carrying the opposing archer, who was incredibly pale but seemed strangely animate.
She began appealing to her comrades that this was quickly becoming a blood bath that they would not survive. Looking at her eviscerated form, the swordsman and axman both lost the will to fight, and attempted to flee. Joe was feeling rather opportunistic and used his advantage over the axman to grab both his helmet and ax before he managed to escape, but the swordsman got away with his equipment.
This left the group standing in a blood stained room, with cards littering the floor from a game that must have been in progress when the mercenaries attacked. The mage still lay unconscious on the ground, and the corpse of the one wielding a hammer was in a corner of the room. The front door was still held open by the form of the unlucky fool with the staff, whose head had been caved in before he even knew the fighting had begun.
Besides what to do with the bodies, the group was left with the question of what to do with the building. Inhabiting here would be a rent free option, but it would sacrifice some of the connectedness they’d had at the inn (one less contract available). And if they didn’t stay here, should they just leave it as is?
Drifting around Altera
The
dreaming soul found some easy pickings for stealing some mana in the form of a sleeping guardsmen, who it seemed may also have been hungover. Its attempts to spend that manatic charge to find some form of crystal related to spirits were again unfruitful, however.
