Kyle sighs.
"It was good. I got some more treatment. Also saw that Paludan is kind of a mess."

"You feeding? I've been on a diet, but I think it's time to start back up again."

The spirit finds a inn, boardinghouse or flophouse, and begins to drain charges from the sleeping occupants.

"Think we should take out the competition. Best reward for it's length and difficulty."
"But you should remember that such an action will most likely make us look Chaotic Evil. Not that I saying no, in fact I'm all for it, but we should be aware of how our actions shall paint us."

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

At the Inn

Two ghosts had taken up residence in the Inn and began floating around, causing mischief. A wandering spirit searched the inn for sleeping patrons, but found none in their beds. Not despairing he floated down to the bar, where he found a number of individuals passed out, still perched upon their high stools. It was a simple matter to take some energy from them, though it wouldn't help their hangover. A dreaming soul floated off to a nearby village whose name was of little significance and floated into houses. It was daytime, but the ghost still found a young girl napping under the shade of a large tree in the cemetery. The soul took some of her energy, but gave her dreams of fairies dancing in a circle in a field of flowers.

Unaware of either the drunk guests at the inn or the ghost hovering about them, and entirely indifferent towards fairies frolicking in flowered fields, Cromwell set to work cleaning off his sword. It wasn't a pleasant task, but he managed to keep himself and his equipment clean by tearing off a rag from a discarded shirt left lying on the floor. It wasn't ideal, but it would work. He held onto the now bloodied rag, unsure if leaving that on the floor would look good...

Village Market

Will decided a full set of throwing knives was entirely unnecessary for his purposes, and set about trying to sell them. Upon arriving at the village market he found that there were fewer stalls than before. The day was sunny, so he didn't see why there shouldn't be a crowd. Perhaps there was something else going on in the village today that was keeping people occupied. Regardless, he needed to sell these knives. The only problem is that throwing knives weren't exactly a gentleman's weapon, people were skittish about buying them. After only a couple of tries, however, he found a man who offered 17 iron shillings for the knives.

Around a Table in the Inn

Will return with his coinpurse slightly heavier, weighted down by 17 iron shillings. He found his companions clustered around the same table, appearing to have made no progress on the task of picking the next contract. At least Cromwell got that disgusting blood off of his blade finally.

Both spirit and soul thought to find crystals. They each extended their essence as far as they could, but couldn’t find anything, not even the smallest sliver. Neither had any experience in this sort of thing, so they couldn’t say if it was because there were no crystals, or because they weren’t sufficiently powerful to sense them.

The Contracts

Other Options

Go to the village to get supplies

Wait a week

Any other suggestions

The spirit turns to the soul. "Hey, what do ya say we hit up the places where we know there are crystals? Do some science, ya know? The cliffs of Varisport should have some in those boulders."

Suck up some more charges.

Outside the Opposing Compound

The group of five mercenaries left the comfort of their inn and traveled to a village which was just outside of Varisport, much closer to the grand city than their own inn. They intentionally arrived late at night, in hopes of avoiding notice. They found themselves standing outside a building with a small sign with poorly drawn swords crossed on it. This seemed to identify the building as being the mercenary compound. As far as they could tell they had not yet been seen.
