Scap? You in there buddy?

(Real reason for this post: could we hire NPC's to join our group?)

My thought behind NPC's is that they would provide functions not related to combat (equipping the group with potions, repairing armor, finding better contracts, planning ways to complete multiple contracts in a single trip, providing food, training, writing the documents necessary for classes to be created, etc.).

There are two other types of hiring I'd like to do as well. One is to eventually expand the group, in which case you hire off of the wait list and they become a new party member. The other type is hiring that creates a new group, essentially adding a sister game. My thoughts on that sort of hiring includes: getting animal trainers to train animals for the group, hiring people to investigate caves, and hiring untrained individuals as meat shields in any coming war. These would be fairly short sister games, and the group would benefit from the results.

This seem like a good system?

Player got a kill! and almost got killed… Those were some pretty extreme rolls, it was a fun turn.

Character sheets will be updated tomorrow, and Remuthra can post ghostly things, and you'll just sorta show up and start doing them. No real intro for a ghost.

I'm thinking armor might be a bit OP, I'll think about changing the system a bit. Joe has survived, with minimal damage, two pretty extreme rolls, while Will got blasted pretty bad on a single roll, since he's unarmored. Give me your thoughts.

I am badass.
And yes, this...

I think that's exactly how armor should be. It's pretty darn realistic at least.

Well, consider that I'm using two shields and a suit of plate. You try attacking a knight with a bone dagger.

Yeah the armor is very powerful but to be fair it's also realistic. I mean in the old days tho only things that worked against a heavily armored man was either a very strong person with a broad sword and or things like bolas and other weapons that don't pierce or batter the person directly.

Also, I looked back, and the hammerman I stabbed actually died, so that's my second kill, and I get two assists from the thug mission, so.

((I've actually finally thought of a backstory for Will, who I believe is the oldest one in the group.))

What follows is truly a spoiler; it contains information regarding the larger continent upon which the Altera Valley exists. Details are left out such that it will not provide any information that would likely effect the way anyone plays their characters, but it does contain general information which your characters would not know. If you would like a more detailed version I would be happy to provide it, on the condition you swear a solemn oath not to metagame. I just want to give you guys a chance to see the general direction the human race is headed. :)
