In the middle of time, in the land of nostalgia...
« on: February 22, 2014, 02:55:20 pm »

I'm on a huge Leonard Nimoy / Spock kick and I just discovered he released several albums years ago, a couple of them in character as Mr. Spock. I'm willing to pay for them, but I can only find them as collectibles for ridiculously high prices. I just want digital albums, but I can't find them anywhere. I did find one web site where I can stream all of them, and they offer them as paid downloads as well, but it's a Russian site and I don't trust them with my credit card number. There is one album on Spotify, a joint album between him and William Shatner, but it's not the one I want.

These tracks HAVE to be available somehow. The fact that this Russian web site has them means they have been digitized. I found a few links to download the albums from sites known for hosting pirated files, but the links are long dead. I'm willing to obtain them using methods of questionable legality (though obviously such methods need not be discussed in this public thread *shifty eyes*), or pay for them, whatever gets me this music affordably. Does anyone know how? At the moment, neither option seems possible.

I want the albums "Mr. Spock's Music From Outer Space" and "Two Sides Of Leonard Nimoy" mostly. Those are the in-character ones.

Sometimes, a body gets a hankering that only Leonard Nimoy singing about hobbits while surrounded by 60's pixie chicks can sate. Fortunately, we live in a world where those hankerings need not go unfulfilled!

Music from Outer Space seems to be on amazon, if that's an option... running about 20 USD used, ~50 USD new, from what I could tell. Not digital, though.

There's also this, though I'm not 100% sure exactly what it is, ha. Prices seem to be hovering in the ~15-20 USD range, again.

*ahem* it appears that I am no longer in need of sources for the material in question. Many thanks to those who sought to assist in this search. *shifty eyes*

EDIT: By way of thanks to everyone, please enjoy this video of Leonard Nimoy singing The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins -- and believe me, you do want to click that link.

Shatner has... something... else... entirely... going on. He only... uses as... an... excuse.

Speaking of Nimoy and Shatner.
These two are great  :). Difficult to interview consistently, but great. Also best buddies off camera.
