And then the inevitable Highschool setting.

Starting, of course, with a small, bearded dwarf with bright pink hair, late to school, running around the corner with a slice of toast in her mouth, before crashing into the unlikeable protagonist and him landing in a contrived position on top of her.

Old and cringe account. Disregard.

Edit: The baby murderer became a friend of the fortress, which started a loyalty cascade, and now most of the squad is dead.

It's the beard. And the giant underground fortress. And the forgotten beasts (angels).

I wonder, what is everyone's thoughts on how various anime would turn out if they took place in the !fun! dwarf world, or the opposite with df in a typical anime world.

Imagine Attack on Titan for Dawrves.

Titans are basically steam demons immune to damage everywhere but a small area and can flatten/eat dwarfs instantly.
The Berserk manga has a lot of things that could be incorporated into DF. Nosferatu, Feast of The Eclipse, Femto's buddies and Qliphoth would make caverns very terrifying.

Don't worry everyone, I id not mean Attack on Titan in General.

I think you are right NAV.

I do see that would become a forum challenge if they where in the game. The only plus is 3d maneuvering gear and the special blades not needed.

The Spinning Dwarven Underclasswomen slams into the Dwarven Upperclassman.

Regarding AoT:

We've all had at least one uninvited guess that was a giant skinless humanoid with a stupidly high body temperature that breached our walls and mercilessly devoured our dorfs. Multiply that by 10,000 or so, trade out dorfs for humans, and put the walls on the surface, and you've got Attack on Titan in a nutshell.

I want to tell you they were bad men, cephalo.  I want to tell you that with a better overseer the Fortress never would've gotten so bad someone would get offed in a pointless fisticuffs.
But the sad truth charlie?
It was inevitable.

Has there been any decent dwarf anime lately? All I can think of that even had them was Outbreak Company, last season, and they weren't that central to it.

One Piece has involved dwarves, lately, though they're pointy-nosed gullible beings with tails.

(one piece mod coming eventually)

Ooh, I'd love to see that... can't imagine how it'd work, but would be very cool to play.

The top one seems very dwarfy in a modern sense.

I wonder why the bottom ones have ears and horns.
