Problem with shells

I have a lot of crayfish shells on my stockpile (generated from cleaning crayfish on a fishery) but cant find a use for them. Ive tried using them at the craftdwarf but it tells me: Needs unrotten shell body part :S

Also, why are the skins grouped together with fat on the stockpile settings? :S

Did you clean the shells (not just the fish) again?

Hmmm, how to clean the shell? My fishers just go to the fishery, clean the crayfish and then stock the shell alongside bones and leather on my stockpile

should be at the Tanner (in the off chance it turns it from a shell to shellplate, hey, you can use the shellplate leather to make crafts and armor =P)

nope, the option to clean a shell is red on my tanner shop. Seriously, I have dozens and dozens of crayfish shells and cant do nothing with them... Theyre more every passing minute :(

Crayfish shells are too small to make crafts. You need turtles or tortoises.

Thanks for the answer. So what should I do with the crayfish shells? I have so many fo them! :S There no use for them=?¿

Mark the for dumping and then use the 'autodump destroy' command in DFHack.

They cannot be useless. Can you not combine them in a Tanner to make Scaleplate?

Since they go in the refuse pile, why not try burning them in the crematorium for ash.

There are plenty of ways to dispose of items without having to resort to cheating. As mentioned, you could have them burned for ash, toss them into magma, use them as ammunition for traps, or just atom smaah them (Not recommended, as this simply visually hides them, instead of truly removing them- excess abuse can lead to irreversible lag.)
