35+1-14= 22 Damage!
Cma4 counters! 105-15-10-10-50= 20 Hit Rate. Roll: 30, Miss!
Ociel versus Avalon: 128-66= 62 Hit Rate. Roll: 96, Miss!

"How the hell..."
While Avalon's shield still reflected the hit, it couldn't protect him from the light, tearing part of his outfit apart, revealing bones instead of skin.
Avalon's reincarnation triggered!
"No...I am not quite dead yet."

Lycan versus Cma4: 133+5-50= 88 Hit Rate. Roll: 7, Critical!

:"This is gonna hurt"

(5,17), Charge Avalon with Spear from outside his counterattack range (Predator active), if Anne somehow survives she'll canto to (11,15) for her Lightning Raid

"No...I am not quite dead yet."

Need some help!-"Anne..." was what Aura would've said, but all that came out was the first person she saw in view.

Thanks to Ociel's strike (that Aura was thankful for given her lack of planning and attacking--perhaps he saw her preparing to attack? Either way he deserved her thanks), Aura was able to quickly see a chink in Avalon's armor; his magical armor, literally speaking, was something akin to the physical hardpoints where a weapon could slip in. His shield, however, was another question entirely with its coverage.

Lycan was triumphant he'd managed to down the mounted enemy before they could attack him, but then...

"Ah, he's a boney. More resilient than usual, then."

"That was disturbing on a number of levels. . ." He heeled his pegasus forward, and bopped Seraphim with his staff, looking over to check that Gordon was doing the same for Kat.

Upon getting bapped with the staff, the until then immobile armor suddenly shot up.

: I'm not dead!

Seraphim looked around but Avalon was already gone.

: Oh. Everyone else is? Everyone who was trying to kill us at least. What happened to shield guy?

Anne is laying on Feather's back, semi-conscious at best.

Vandertz removed his helmet and tried to get back on his feet, supporting his weight on his halberd for now.

"If you meant the skeleton dude with Avalon's shield, he is gone. We didn't exactly kill him, something rescued him after we took him down again."

:"Yep. It hurt."
Aura helped tend to the wounded, as the group healer tended to those needing aid more. She stuck by Anne's side--less that she reminded her of Elend, and more that she felt better off near Pegasi after a battle for some reason.

"When we're facing large numbers, we should have a plan to stick together. Skirmishers helped like you proved. Anyone know what that shield was or how that...person evaporated like that? I sensed quite a deal of magic, but it was ultimately spurious."

After Gordon healed his wounds, Vandertz properly stood up and gave a shrug in response to Aura's question.

"Like I said, that's Avalon's shield. Instead of just blocking attacks, it absorbs part of the attack and shoots it back against the opponent....That's how that skeleton was taking us down without even raising his sword."
"Unfortunately I don't know much about him aside from being famous for his shield and abilities. People said he just vanished, but this was way back so he probably died with that shield in a very distant location. And that's why I am still trying to understand how this guy showed up with it. And I have no idea how he vanished like that, pretty sure someone rescued him."

"Is there anyway to track him though? There must be a trail we could use or something. Magic leaves traces that have links in a way, and his link can't be that far at least from what I assume out of the cemetery you found us in.

"And for that matter, did anyone find anything connecting all these puritans and cultists to something bigger? They're all...dead. Quite a lot of them."
