Aura was vigilant--she was sure she could take on the next foe to her front, she could see its outline perfectly enough to know that it hadn't seen her.

What she forgot was to watch her rear, as she did not expect getting backstabbed and having her counterspell being deflected by a twist of her arm.
...At least she could feign getting a flesh wound as she wasn't stabbed any further, but wow was her blood warm.

Groan silently and appreciate the forest.

Lycan followed the arc of his first throw with his eyes at the same time as he reached for another of his throwing spears. He obviously commemorated when, despite the obstacles posed by the woods, he managed a good, gory hit.

"Hahaha! Face someone your own size!"

That commentary was, of course, made ignoring the fact he was probably bigger than the (thoroughly dead) assassin.
