"I wasn't serious about it. Just wanted to get her back for all the teasing. You didn't think I wasn't going to learn, right?"

[Sirus]

: "All I'm saying is that ye shouldn't assume that everyone is vying for your affections. Perhaps Garret saved the girl's life at some point and she merely wishes ta return the favor. Perhaps he resembles someone she lost. Or maybe he owes her a great deal of money. That's why I suggest stepping lightly."

[Praefectus Screptum]

Vandertz stretched himself a bit and took his helmet off again before approaching the group to see what was going on.

"What happened? Did the crazy undead guy bother someone else this time?"

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Pfff. No one's ever vyed for my affections. Most just steer clear."

Kat tapped the dark tome hanging from her waist to indicate why.

"Anyway, I'm sure we'll learn the truth sooner or later."

Vandertz walked up at that point, and she turned to him.

"We're gossiping."

[Solymr]

"You've never had someone decapitate for you?"
Garret turned to Vandertz.
"Come on Vandertz, I know he's old but you don't have to call him that."

[Sirus]

Gordon ignored the jab and pointed at the two youngsters.

: "They were gossiping. I, on the other hand, was attempting to impart some hard-earned wisdom on their hyperactive brains."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Really, old-timer? Like you weren't speculating yourself!"

She turned to Garret.

"Can't say I have, nope. I don't think that's the kind of thing most guys would try to woo with anyway though."

[Praefectus Screptum]

Vandertz slowly raised one of his hands and placed it over his face, yes, a facepalm indeed.

"...Alright. Just make sure it doesn't become some kind of discussion, we will be facing a lot of trouble in Mernid, so we need to stick together."

[Sirus]

Gordon pretended not to hear Kat.

[Solymr]

Garret looked at Kat's book.
"Huh? Oh right, you said you could do magic. Why didn't you try that before? I don't anything wrong with it."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"...Well, when I say I can do magic, I mean I can do like really minor stuff that's not nice to people. Like make their hair fall out. If I try really hard, anyway."

Kat held up the tome.

"But now that I have this, I can channel the spells in it! So the next time we get into a fight..."

She closed the book as a few insects started to crawl from between the pages.

"...I can set these little guys on our enemies."

[Praefectus Screptum]

"Oh, I almost forgot to tell you two about something. When we were flying, I saw something weird on the port, actually.. plenty of weird things, I am not sure what they are as there were too many people close to them but..they weren't there last time I visited the port."

"Do you think maybe it's that thing the leader of the mercenaries we fought talked about?"
