: "Very well. And I shall endeavor to turn a blind eye towards any merrymaking."

That might have been said as a joke. His habitual dour expression didn't change a bit, but there may have been the hint of a twinkle in his eye.

: "So if ye don't mind me asking, how does one begin...doing what ye do?"

"Being a thief?"

Kat rubbed the back of her neck nervously.

"...I dunno. A lot of my reasons are kinda personal. No offense, but I don't wanna talk about those right now."

"I guess of the ones that aren't... it's just easiest to keep doing as an adult what you learned as a kid. I mean I guess there's a point when you think that maybe you could be doing something else with your life, but I think it's too late for me to unlearn all of these things and pick up some new skills."

"At least I can be useful, right?"

[Sirus]

Gordon shrugged. He wasn't about to pry.

: "Well, the confessional booth is open anytime. As for whether ye can be useful...well, ye can clearly handle yourself in a fight. Don't know how useful stealing will be, but the journey has barely begun yet. Plenty of time to show off what ye can do."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Right. Thanks, old-timer. Maybe one of these days I'll talk to ya about it, and you can tell me why you're so serious. You probably have some good stories anyway. You look like that kind of a grandpa."

Kat giggled and ran off before he could get mad about it. She didn't get very far before she accidentally ran full on into Garret and knocked both of them to the ground.

"Whoops! Hahaha! Sorry about that, I didn't see you!"

She raised herself onto her elbows and looked down at Garret.

"Hey, while I got you here, I wanna ask you something. I picked up this sword while we were fighting but it's kinda heavy for my tastes. You want it?"

:"..."

Nanoha watch the two.

: Hmph. 'Grandpa'... I never even had the chance to be one.

Gordon decided to walk around town, though he had no money. At least he wouldn't have to fear muggers.

"It's the second time I get knocked down today..."
Garret got up quickly this time though, and took the sword from Kat.
"You really should look forward if you're running full speed, before you bump into something that won't go down. Thanks for the sword anyways."

[SeriousConcentrate]

Kat picked herself up after Garret did and unbuckled the iron sword from her belt. She handed it over with a grin.

"No problem! Just thought you could use it. Friends give each other stuff all the time, right?"

Garret admonished her for running about full tilt.

"Sorry. I enjoy running! I'm pretty good at it if I say so myself. What about you? What do you like doing?"

She was a little curious about the man's pasttimes.

"You're right. You give me a sword, I give you advice, I think we're even."
When asked about what he liked, he realized he hadn't thought of it in a long time.
"I haven't done anything I like in a long time. A nice sleep in a warm bed is quite good for me though. And do you like doing something else than running into people?"

[SeriousConcentrate]

"I don't run into everybody."

"Although sometimes it's a good way to pick a pocket. Er, bumping into people, I mean, not running into them. It doesn't work too well on other girls, though."

Kat put her hands in her back pockets and rocked back and forth on her heels.

"Uh, well, I like exploring. Climbing things. Usually people's houses. I don't always take stuff, I just like to look around. Um. I like magic. I can cast spells but I'm not very good at it. I like reading, friendly spars, long walks on the beach. that sort of thing."

"So... you said you haven't done anything you liked in a long time. If you could be doing anything you wanted right now, what would it be?"

Vandertz looked to Orihalcon and gave it a few pats on the head.

"Looks like we just get some conversation going when we are in the middle of a fight, buddy."

He laughed quietly before starting to sharpen the side of his halberd, at least for now he would just keep there, as he stated before, he wasn't going to buy anything.

Lesan rode up to Vandertz on a horse. No one had seen it before. "Any chance we could spare a bit of that money we got from that loser for a short bow for me?"

[Praefectus Screptum]

"Oh, of course. Here you go, and if you find any informations about "Shards" or what had been happening on the other countries, let me know."
Vandertz gave Lesan a small bag with Gold, nodding to him before moving back to his Wyvern.

"Also be careful, city or not, we are still close to the port, so we might bump into a mercenary or two."

Nanoha look to the side and notices something
:"Wait, ain't you that girl who danced me by the battle?"

:"That sounded better in my head."
