Actually, how much they write won't necessarily correspond to their likelihood of being chosen, particularly if in doing so they add things that are likely to be incongruous with the lore yet to be added, like, say, a backstory.
So, writing a backstory means you might be rejected because it doesn't quite fit, but not writing a backstory has no negative effect on if you'll get chosen.
That seems...backwards.

First of all, hello everyone!
I have played map-based RTDs in the past on other forums, but it's my first time playing a game like this.  So please bear with me if I make mistakes. :P
Spoiler: Bob the Builder (click to show/hide)

Edit: Bob's education.

O.O OHIDERE! Its my little buddy with the awesome chess-piece name :)

Nice character....though I gotta say that another person submitted a sheet with the whole "raised by animals" thing goin on already. Its not exactly a rule or anything, just a pet peeve of mine when submitted chars have same-ish backstories.
Granted I've done it too in the past (sometimes its hard to follow/read all the submissions :P)

(Oh, and what about female waitlisters?)
I'm pretty sure he means "Waitlisters are bastards" in the "from a different woman then the one their father married" perspective instead of the "asshole" version of the word.

Also I wasn't saying neglect is WORSE then abuse, just saying it didn't really happen, at least not on that level :P

Character coming. I was considering creating another in my line of Angels made off the same template, but then I saw the age restriction.

Before I decided to add that age restriction, I forget if I thought of you, BFEL or Remuthra first. But all three certainly crossed my mind.
I'm not sure whether to be happy my character designs are getting noticed, or sad that they are apparently all so predictable :P

EDIT: and I CONTINUE to have some unwholesome obsession with the "Tongue" smiley. I thought I was getting over this. I think I need professional help.

Indeed, I do this.

No backstory is needed or particularly relevant, but descriptions are nice to have, intriguing preferred over verbose. Hence why it says 'description' and not 'backstory'.

Your characters are almost always highly noticeable. And they are usually extreme in some way. That's about the extent of my general predictions.

Also, added two of the first entries to the Things You Know post, part of the basic package of IC information you should (but don't necessarily) have at the beginning of the game. If anybody feels like revising something on their sheets as a result, feel free to do so. I won't start the game until, like, Thursday or so.

Hello again. :)
My bad, I didn't realize someone else had that detail in their character. I thought I had sufficiently read/skimmed the thread - guess I was mistaken.  I could change his story, so that he was not raised by bears. I still want him to be a Bear-tamer/ Bear-whisperer though. :P

@OP
If my character's story conflicts with the lore or anything, please let me know, and I'll change it.

Interesting backstory for the world. Certainly hope little Donnie will turn out to be the hero (or at least one of the heroes) that this world needs :)

Which brings up an interesting point. Donnie is COMPLETELY specialized in speechcraft, which is good for the "gathering an army of heroes" thing, but not so much the "not being eaten by his enemies" thing.
What kind of leveling/character progression can we expect? I kinda intend for Donnie to heed his fathers call just so he can run off and do dangerous stuff his mother wouldn't let him do, and would expect him to gradually become less crap at said things. Is that gonna happen at all, or should I stick to being the recruiter/morale officer?

I've heard the term only ever used to mean illegitimate sons.

My mom was called a bastard(by a priest of all people). She was born before her parents were married unlike her young sister and brother.

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

I remembered said restrictions being a decade or two higher.

My mom was called a bastard(by a priest of all people). She was born before her parents were married unlike her young sister and brother.
Is it mean to say that I'd expect it from a priest before I'd expect it from most?
And that means I have heard of the term being used to refer to women. The more you know...

Name: Samuel
Age: 23
Education: basketweaving, communications, and the necromantic arts

Description: Samuel constantly smiles and is a generally jovial and upbeat person.  He extolls the virtues of necromancy and sees the betterment of necromancy's image as his life mission.  His hobbies include basketweaving, graverobbing, and long walks on the beach (ladies?).

Abnormality: mental
Color: Blue!

Please note that I'm new to this and if chosen may have difficulty writing goodwell.  However, it certainly won't be for lack of effort!

Also, I would love to learn more about magic in this universe for your next backstory entry, if at all possible!
