Dude, I totally approve and if you'd done that for NoH, I would've made Brann a fencer. >_>

I first considered it a few weeks ago. So, a bit late for that.

I'm all right with that, though does that mean you'll be running a second FEF Blade? :3

Hard to say. Certainly not right away. When NoH ends though, it will certainly leave something of a void.

Oh, no, I understand that. Running an FEF is certainly a lot of work. ^^^;

Only a truly insane person would run more than one at a time.

I'm helping Praef with some balance notes and I always thought it was strange swashbuckler wasn't a fencer promotion due to how their flavor is similar, so fixing that is a possibility. On the matter of balance, Fencer is very likely losing Sneaking in favor of skills more based on panache and actual fencing, such as extra mobility.

A better version of Sneaking will return with the Shadow Sword, though.

"Hey steve." You speak into the air.
>Yes?
"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

I like the sound of this.

Yeah, I felt that it was really weird that a fencer, someone who's very much not sneaky or anything, more likely to be upfront and challenging, etc, would get a skill that feels more suited to thieves really. Also it's frustrating that they only get their bonus inside.

Yeah, there is a massive class balance here. I will probably be using a few changes they did on classes on the newest handbook to make some of them more useful. That and of course make a few weapon classes become more inviting. (Like the maces, as they had no advantages at all compared to the other axe classes before the balance).

Thought of a better class feature for the Fencer while I was statting up enemies.

Challenge: Once per map, a Fencer may designate one enemy. The Fencer gains a bonus to hit and damage equal to having weapon triangle advantage against the enemy, and the target will attack the Fencer above all other units, so long as they are in the target's attack range. This effect ends if the Fencer is Downed, or moves to put distance between themself and the target.

This gives the Fencer an ability that is useful on every map, not just outdoor ones, and one that makes sense for a fencer to have. Thoughts?

That's really nice. Can I give you an idea based on yours for shadow sword/crusader?

Lesse...
For crusader: Crusade :P :designate a whole class to get triangle bonus.
For shadow sword: Marked for Death: instead of just triangle damage the shadow sword gets effective damage or bonus crit or whatever against the marked enemy.
And they should totally keep the resistance bonuses.
