There's a buttload of trees nearby, people could easily make a wall in front of them to keep the ranged units behind them or something. Or at least get some extra evasion during enemy turn. And Nomads can easily hit-and-run, so you could attack something and return to your previous position.

Are you mounted? Then yes. All mounted units can canto (unless Praef made some really bizarre change).

Personally I would hover near Kaarina, because she is definitely going to take damage during the enemy phase and will need the healing. Of course you want to be far enough away from her to avoid getting ganked, but unless you have a better idea in mind I don't see what else you should do.

Canto works with healing staffs, right? For some reason I feel like it only works with actual attacks, but that doesn't seem right to me.

I think it should work with staves, since it allows a move after an action, not just attacking IIRC.

Canto works with any action, yes.

You two, specify the weapon you are going to use.  And yes, all mounted unit have canto, Nomad just gets a bonus movement after attacking.

I meant specify it in your action post, not here. It makes things easier for when I start the combat rolls. Edit: And your character have two lances in  the inventory, so yeah gotta be a tad more specific.
